Re: Treils 2006 Competition Log

I talked to her last night.

She seems very calm and confident - which is EXACTLY how you need to feel on stage.

Re: Treils 2006 Competition Log

O.k. I got the message Florencia, thank you!!! ;)
We were long gone from Outback when you called... I had the blue cheese crusted steak, 2 sweet potatoes with brown sugar and butter, 1/2 lb crab legs, 2 side salads loaded bleu cheese dressing, and one of the bread loafs, and 1 glass red wine. Went to the club had a double jack and diet and Danced, danced, danced. Stopped by the store on the way home got a jar of PB (Reeses creamy), and chocolate PB ice cream, a king size Symphony bar (SBT went and got 4 me ;) ) and Scorpio bought a bag of kettle chips. So I had some symphony bar, 1 cup ice cream, about 3 or 4T PB, and a huge handful of kettle chips :chomp:
You would think how the heck did she eat all that... well I feel like a million bucks right now. I got it out of the system and it totally hit the spot! Today we are all hitting Cracker Barrel for breakfast probably just get some oatmeal and fruit and turkey bacon or something like egg beaters. I'm so excited to make some of the new healthy recipes I have discovered, and I'm ready to get back into the gym and revise a new leg and butt plan that I can add some serious muscle on with.... Any ideas all?!?

Overall I'm glad to have done this and think that it only helped give me a starting point now that I can work from and contiune competing against myself. I'm not at the point where I would even think about being competitive against other people because I know I have a lot of work to do. Posing and stage presence I totally suck at and know that this is one areas in need of diar improvement. Heck at least I didn't get 6th... and now I have a place that will be my baseline that I can improve from and hopefully do a lot better next year ;)

Ohhhh and if you didn't know I took 5th out of 6 ladies in the tall division.

Thanks to all who supported me durng this time, and to those who traveled all the way here that I got to meet in person. I had a blast yesterday and you all made it 1,000 times better then Icould even of imagined the day would be

Alright so now I'm going to have a 2007 log.... To be continued

Re: Treils 2006 Competition Log

July 17 2006
weight 139.4
mood= good

So......
o.k. I'm going to talk with my trainer this week sometime about where to go from here. As I have talked with many people that came my trainer's idea of getting me back to my calories I should be at... it is just not going to work. So when we speak he's going to have to give me macros or something. See he wants me to use week 13 this week, then week 12, and work consecutively backwords through the weeks. Makes sense... but I leave for Europe in 4 weeks today! Not going to work. So any experienced people who may have any ideas on how to get me back to a somewhat decent cal... or macro split I'm alll ears!!!!
I am going to post up a food journal starting now just because it will help keep me in check and also give me an idea if I start packing weight on... or any other thing I may run into.

M1 = 4 egg whites, cheese apr 1/4 C, 1/4C chopped ham, ? oil (Left over from omlette)
M2 = 1.5 scoop protein water
M3 = 2 oz.tuna, and 3 oz. chicken
M4 = 6 oz. grilled chicken salad no dressing (going out to eat)
M5 = 1 scoop protein water
Bed

Approximately 1115 cals, 39F/16C/164P (%) = 33/6/62
This was all grab and go so I'm eyeing the amounts 'cuz I couldn't weight it

Supplements =
Start glutamine and creatine up again (5g a day)
Triflex (joints)
Multi-vitamin
calcium/magnesium supp
Vitamin E and C
Saw Pallmetto
Glucorell-r (on higher carb meals)
Sesapure
Cardio breeze (Just when needed)
DMAE (just till bottle is empty)
Ginseng

May throw in a few cardio sessions this week just more or less for circulation purposes to help get some of the water off.
Also, going to try and keep water intake up to around 1.5 gallons per day
Trying to keep all food additives still to a minimum and this week just formulating a plan to help get me to my trip, through it, and then back to a bulking cycle when I get back.

Definitely life changing!!!! You are right.. still scrubbing protan off. My feet look like they should be on someone else 'cuz they are still really dark :lmao:

Re: Treils 2006 Competition Log

Very nice your pictures!

... can't figure out why they gave you 5th since you are in more shape than other competitors there with you.

Re: Treils 2006 Competition Log

Well on these shots I don't have the girl that took first... she is off to the side. She had her hair down straight, green suit in one piece, black suit in 2 piece, boob job, very thin... Didn't look very muscular at all. In the short class the winner looked like she could almost cross over into bodybuilding to me, and when judging went on her suit was actually jacked up on stage. That was the lady who took overall. I couldn't tell you why I got 5th... Besides the fact that I was VERY uncomfortable on stage maybe I was doing stuff that I didn't realize... WHo knows. Again I did this for me and am not focused on placement... if I were I would have been let down totally!!!
From what my trainer and most people have told me I should have at least been in the top 3... Who knows :whatever:

You were 1-2 easy :rose: Acting like the 'trainer' ...

I am thrilled that you are keeping a level head about competition & what you really accomplished by doing this ... you already know I could NOT :rose:

You are absolutely right about the short class overall ... more bb like & definitely looked like she was wearing a thong. She looked great though, I'll give here that... almost too good to be 'natural' since this was a tested show. But I don't even wanna question that b/c I would hate if someone said that about me ... ya know?

And Treil even the girl that won ... I still feel you were top 3 easy ...

That is allllllllllll very well put, and I definately would have to second it... You also had much better just overall muscle tone then the competitors too IMO anyways :rose:

Re: Treils 2006 Competition Log

That's great winner attitude!

... but in my perception absolutely you're in the top 3!

Re: Treils 2006 Competition Log

I thought FOR SURE you would beat out the girl who took first! She was too skinny and no muscle. I was shocked to say the least.

In this show you couldn't tell what the judges were looking for. They chose a BBer looking girl in short (and I didn't agree with the judgment on that one either - but I guess I'm not a judge) and tall and skinny with minimal muscle for the tall........

In any case - you accomplished your goal and now.......movin' on to get ready for the next one! :) You are absolutely beautiful and I agree with Sassy - I think maybe some fitness modeling would be a good move for ya' too!

Re: Treils 2006 Competition Log

Out of curiousity, did you get any feedback from the judges??

And what beautiful flowers!!!!

Re: Treils 2006 Competition Log

JULY 18 2006
Weight 135.4
Mood = pretty good

Decided to do an hour of cardio last night. Felt much better. Plan on doing 1/2 the amount of cardio I was doing to start out with here. I don't want to drop it totally even though my trainer told me this week off. I guess it's because we still haven't spoke and I don't know what his idea for a diet and program is... and I'm the one that has to deal with the way I feel and look, and that was a lot of hard work to just let myself balloon up... so I will try and control matters as much as I can.

Food yesterday was pretty much what I listed except I had 2T guac at dinner, 1/2C fresh blueberries, 1T sugar free jam, 1 serv walnuts, 1T PB. at my last meal with the protein powder. So friggen hungry last night!!!

Food today =
M1 2oz. turkey, 4 oz. chicken (mrs. dash and chinese 5 spice)
M2 4oz. chicken, 1 oz. turkey, 2C lettuce, 1/4C tomatoe, 1/2C cuke
M3 1 scoop protein, 2.5g glutamine, water
M4 4oz. chicken, 2oz. turkey, 1T EVO, 1 oz. WW pasta, chinese 5 spice
M5 1 scoop protein, 2.5g glutamine, 1/4C blueberries, water
M6 6 egg whites, cooking spray

1136cal 26F/13C/61P(%) 32F/37C/164P (g)
Shooting for 1.5gal water

P.M. 1 hour LSD cardio, mow lawn if it drys out

Re: Treils 2006 Competition Log

Doing very well T only 5 lbs from the show weight that is awesome. Just my 2 cents but you should let your body rest I know you don't want but it has takin a beating. To help with excess water you are holding you could hit a steam room or sauna for 20-30 minutes a couple times this week also get a massage one week of rest really will do you well.

I totally see what you are saying... I guess I'm struggling with looking at how many cals I was taking in and the amount of activity I was doing... and then to tally just stop doing all activity but keeping my cals even at a bit of an increased balance that I may start packing on weight. The cardio was more for like what you are talking about... to get rid of the excess water and help with circulation. Also, I personally feel better doing it. I don't feel taxed, I don't feel sore, I feel refreshed and revitalized. I'm also not going to be hitting the gym 'real' hard until mid-september. I know some people say the best gains are right after a show because of the insulin sensitivity... but I think I will take a break... add in some pilates, hit weights maybe 3 or 4 days a week for the next 4 weeks before I leave out. I am also formulating a plan for muscle maintenance to do while I'm over there. Sprints, plyo work, etc..
Then when I get back it's all out balls to the walls weight training again.
I need to look at some new ways of doing weights to shock my system. My trainer like I said has a few ideas but his plans are very black and white more old school approach... I need to freshen it up a bit.
Also, they are opening a new gym not even a 1/4 mile from my work and it opens while I'm in Europe.. so I think I'm getting a membership there and will have a new gym with everything new to start back in.

I totally see what you are saying... I guess I'm struggling with looking at how many cals I was taking in and the amount of activity I was doing... and then to tally just stop doing all activity but keeping my cals even at a bit of an increased balance that I may start packing on weight. The body needs rest even if it feels refreshing. LOL This is why I suggested the sauna steam etc. I took a full week off. Kept my diet pretty tight more carbs and cals higher but fairly clean. The week I went back my strength was sick it felt fantastic to be repping big numbers again. I come from a very different background then most of you I did PLing for about a year before focusing on competing and body building. If you want to build muscle you need to be lifting heavy surpassing your numbers in the major lifts (squat, DL and bench every week ) strength gains = muscle gains plain and simple. I suggest looking into DC training if you are looking for a change.

Nope totally understand about lifting heavy... Not really looking to do that till I get back mid-september = 'balls to the walls'
I'm not 100% familiar with DC training but will read up on it more. I found an article on Bodybuilding.com
I'm going to look at what I have done in the past as to when I saw gains, or how I felt to kinda help me figure out what I need to do next go around. I can definitely tell which exercises I can 'kill' and which ones feel like I'm just going through the motion.

Food is looking good! Eat if you are hungry!

What did your trainer say about diet/cardio?
Well he wants me to work backwards through my weeks take week 13 this week, then week 12 next week... and slowly progress back to a reasonable calorie and macro balance... Umm I am not doing that 'cuz I leave for Europe in 4 weeks it's not feasible to be carrying chicken egg whites, and turkey all around Europe.. I can do tuna packs... protein bars, powder, etc...
We are supposed dto meet up sometime this week. I think he is spread to thin though and I think rather then wait on someone else to lead me.. I need to take control of teh situation and my diet and my exercise program. He leaves me in mid august anyway. Wants me to pay for a plan he puts together and diet etc by way of e-mail... Cost $200 a year. He also wants to employ me through his company. I don't want to pay someone $200 for a plan. I would rather pay for advice. He used to be more thorough on answering my questions when I would ask him for example: During my last week of carb up I asked him to explain exactly the physiological changes that are going on as to why he put a certain food in the diet a certain way and at a certain time. He didn't anser that question well enough. So.. I have the plan and if Ican't get the advice I'll take the plan and research it myself. Why pay for something if I'm not getting my questions answered thoroughly face to face... let alone over the net!

I agree with Superqt4u2nv... since your body has been under lots of stress it is better to let it rest, although your metabolism now might be so high that you may feel hyperactive.

Letting your body rest for a week will help recovery so that when you hit the iron again you can truly make gains.

Last year I made the same as you're doing now (not taking time to recover) and I found it so hard to get back into my offseason weight again, it took me about 2 months.

If you're worried about getting bloated (since I don't know how much your depletion took) gradually make your carb load for this week so that your body gradually adapts.

My 2 cents.

Thanks for your change ;)
I do agree about a down time.... I feel though that I need to do the extra cardio if I'm going to be able to eat any more. My body is hypersensitive to bloating. I found this out dieting down... The cardio is for circulation. I was receiving regular massages (as I was going through massage school) during my bulking and part of my cutting cycle and it did not help with the bloating. Heat actually makes me swell worse. Cardio and increased water consumption combined with lower sodium intake helped decrease my bloating issues substantially. I am on low sodium still drinking increased water and doing like I said actually not even half the amount of cardio I was doing. I don't think 5 hours this week compared to 12 hours what I was doing is bad. Especially since I'm going to be upping my cals a lot faster then what was set out to do. I have to get them back up a bit faster then recommended. So one way to increase them is to keep my cardio up. I can do cardio no problem in Europe. So if I can find a balance now of cardio and cals that are maybe even 500 calories more then what I am doing in the next 4 weeks I think my body will adapt well. I'm not putting the added overloaded stress of weights on me at this time. I plan on doing maybe 2-4 weight days in the next well for 3 weeks for maintenance. I am 'not' bulking right now.
Just maintaining.
When I get back I plan on doing more HIIT training through the rest of the year for 2-3 days, and weights 5 days hopefully during my bulk. Again this is a sketchy plan I am altering in my head so advice and 2 cents are taken!
Thank you!
