Yes they do. SFPD Officer Espinoza was murdered with an AK-47. The DA, elected on a 'no death penalty' platform, refused to impose the death sentence on the perp, but rather LWOP....

The police unions are pissed off at this, and want her to step down, and let the Atty. General prosecute the case.

Even Diane Feinstein was outraged, and called for 'death penalty' for the killer.

Doubtful it will happen though.

So he`s 16 years old and gets the death penalty, he should be married, get a college degree, run an internet business, and then get executed in jail when he`s 45. Not a bad system.
