Question on 5x5

Ok so I just did Monday and Wednesday of my first week of 5x5. I felt that I used too much weight for squats on monday 5x5, so on Wednesday I only did 3x5 since I was still sore from Monday.

Is this a big deal? Basically I am just going to lower my weight a little bit for squats.

For the volume phase could I just keep incrementing week by week until I can't successfully complete the 5x5 reps, then go into deloading phase?
 
You should be doing the Single Factor version rather than the Dual Factor one.

Yes it's a big deal since the program runs mostly off the squats. Take a read of the Single Factor program and maybe have a browse through Anotherbutters log on here. Don't worry about it too much, you'd not be the first person here to switch from dual factor to single factor versions. The Dual Factor involves push yourself almost into overtraining using the squats as the main driving force. The Single Factor version is closer to what you describe of steadily increasing week by week.
