Protein Powder Is A Waste ?

I use the protien to supplement my whole food meals. For instance....

6 egg whites a 1/2cup of otameal with a scoop of Labrada V60

Or... 5 oz chicken breast, yam and a nice glass of cool protien drink.

Used in conjunction with real food it is great. To rely on it as your sole source of protein is plain stupid.

man I would stay the fck away from v60 it fked my stomach up and gave me the shits after everytime that I took it, all my friends that tried it had the shits too, yeah its cheap, but it sucks!! and I had to switch back to optimums pro complex

just a heads up if your stomach feels funny after downing a shake

I have no problems with it at all I have been using their product for two years now. I never have problems with any liquid shakes, so I have no idea what all this shitting and farting is all about.

That's what I am saying. Eight servings of 8 oz meat is what you are looking at for 400 grams. That is some hard shit to digest day after day.

Well, let me first say I don't think it's so easy to look like the elite bodybuilders of the 60's and 70's. Sure, I'll bet most of the guys on this board look better than the "average" bodybuilders from the 50's, but I'll bet there aren't too many Zanes or Reeves or Arnolds.

Okay, protein shakes are good for...

A quick meal.

When you want something sweet that isn't pure junk.

And although most of the are designed for weight loss, they're best for adding weight. A shake won't take the place of a meal but it's an easy way to add an additon 100 calories a day.


But yeah, I agree with the original poster. If you count on supps to grow, you wont.

And BTW: Supps were a big part of a lot of the old timers proticol. They drank those horrible canned soy drinks but the Rheo Blair stuff was like a drug to many of the top BB's. Guys who endorsed Weider supps were paying for Blairs protein out of their own pocket.

Maybe it's good to drink right before bed... or right after a workout.. I dunno... but I think you'd get about the same benefit from drinking a tall glass of milk (16g protein).

Milk? Milk has 8 grams of protein and 11 grams of sugar per 8oz. It's not even close. Lets not forget what lactose does to the digestive system of MILLIONS of people as well.
As I said previously the 'filled up' feeling is FROM AIR. Look at nuclearnutrition.com -Trevor Smith wrote about it. Let the shake sit and its not even remotely bloating.
