She didn't feel the ticket was deserved? Fuck her. They should have used the batons. Why is it people feel like they can just do whatever they want? Sign the damn ticket, and be on your way. Or, piss of the cop and get zapped. Just because she didn't plan her day better and leave early, it's the cop's fault she got the ticket. So the woman is running late, and doesn't deserve a speeding ticket in a school zone. Maybe she could run over some kids next time speeding, and they will just shoot her.

If she cared soo much about her kid -- why was she fighting with the cops?? And how are cops gonna know she's pregnant or just plain' ol fat while sitting in a car? What if she pulled a gun from under her seat? Pregnant women can't hate and kill cops? Pregnant women can't be arrested?

They showed her the taser. They TOLD her she was gonna get tasered. She still was loud, obnoxious and violent. She dug her her own mess. Now she'll want $5 million to vacation in bali. Go figure.

Don't blame the cops. The policitians who wrote the laws explicitly detailed _everyone_ can get tasered. They didn't put in any *pregnant woman* clause. She can go sue her favorite congressman.

Resisting arrest is NOT an option.

If the police didn't have the right to impose non-negotiable commands, then their authority would cease to mean much.

Perhaps tasering seems extreme, but what are the other options really?

Pepper Spray: Does this stuff get absorbed into the bloodstream, posing a health risk to a fetus? I don't know the answer to that for certain, as I'm sure the cops don't either.

Baton: An errant swing could hit her belly, so that's a risk to the fetus.

Pure brute force: Jerk her out of the car, and maybe she falls face-first and smucks her belly on the pavement. Potential disaster.

The cop was in a precarious position. Remember, he can't just say "Ah, what the hell, it's just a speeding ticket" and let it go. He has to enforce the rule that says if you don't sign the ticket, you must go to jail. It's NON-NEGOTIABLE. The minute she refuses to sign, and then refuses to step out of the car, it's not a simple speeding ticket anymore...it's RESISTING ARREST. She is solely responsible for putting her baby at increased risk.
