Platinum
Well who do you think will win? What round will one get knocked out?
zmfno5.jpg

Hell yeah, I was waiting for a thread on this fight. This has fight of the year written all over it. Here is my breakdown

Hatton:
Strong for a 140lb
Aggressive
Fights Dirty - Hugs a lot
Decent chin and footwork
Fast enough to be effective
Good bodypuncher

Pacquiao:
Frightening speed
Power
Amazing footwork
Great timing

amazing bag work on this video:

Fight predictions:
In almost every Hatton fight, his opponent looks "uncomfortable" with his aggression in the first few rounds. Even Mayweather looked cautious for the first few rounds of the fight. After rewatching that fight... Hatton did not hit Mayweather a with a meaningful shot the entire fight. Hatton will control the first few rounds with aggression, but will not do any damage to Paquiao. Pacquiao will focus on "touching" Hattons face with sneaky quick lead lefts and nice jabs. His focus will be on speed... however Hatton's face will show the effects early. The fight will turn the in middle rounds when Pacquiao hurts Hatton with a body shot. As Hatton slows, he becomes more one-dimensional. Manny has an uncanny ability to "sense" when his opponent is slowing, and will crank up the intensity and power on his shots. By round 8, he'll be teeing off on Hatton and will open a cut. I predict a TKO for Pacquiao, as the ref mercifully ends it in the 10th or 11th.

Hatton has a puncher's chance in the fight, but will be overwhelmed by Pacquiaos speed and aggression.

My money is on Pacquiao!
Ya know... You rawk right...

LOL...

U are right on the money.

Like the English dude alot...
Like his Trainer... 2nd or 3rd best in the world...

However, Hatton just happens to fight perhaps 1 and 2 in the world.

Give dude credit for that.
How many can say I fought MayWeather, then Pac Man... back to back.
Moreover his GF, Fiance is 5 10.
That's tall....LOL

The Mexican dude! Oh, is he mexican?

Gonna be in the MGM same time as the fight. Definately takin a cab there. When I went to UFC 94, it took 45 min to park (yes i shoulda valeted it.)

Not back to back. He's faced Lazcano and Malignaggi since the Mayweather fight. Hatton looked like shit agaist Lazcano and looked ok against the feather fisted Malignaggi.

Here is the thing... Pac looked unreal against a weak De La Hoya, I now do not think Pac... matches up with MayWeather. I mean I thought he might be close to Mayweathers hand speed, but probably not. Plus MayWeather's defense is second to none. Stop looking ahead..

Who has the bigger punch Hatton or Pac?

pac went back home and stood on the street in his old neighborhood while ppl were in a mile long line and he just gave everyone straight cash 1 by 1.... shit was sick

oh btw hai ariel

Hatton is very powerful no doubt... Pac is way too fast for him. He has speed and a great stamina. I think that Hatton is gonna get tired very quickly. We'll see though..
I can't wait. It's gonna be a great fight.

Pacquiao is faster than Mayweather. Everybody says that Hatton is a good body puncher, but Pacquiao will hurt Hatton with a body shot. Watch the Delahoya fight... Delahoya was hurt badly by a body shot in the 5th, when Pacquiao really started to put the beatdown on him. Hatton does not hit that hard and doesn't put combinations together very well because he hugs so damn much. I hate his style. His nickname should be Ricky "Hugman" Hatton.

Depends on the ref.

Hatton would have caused Mayweather probs had the ref not been so against him from the start for wanting to 'work on the inside'.

Did nyone see the Carol Froch v Jermaine Taylor fght? Now that was exciting.

LOL
U are partial Local Boy... Anyway, I was in the same boat with DelaHoya and Diaz Destruction. However, they weren't the best out there at those weight classes. Hatton was faster than Malinaggi. Killed him. He looks quick. I think that he is better than you are giving him credit for.
He does not hug anymore, that is the old Hatton, the brawler which was just the style that was needed for Mayweather, and maybe the style for this fight.
That said... 4 rounds one of them goes down. It's a slug fest and someone will go down.
No way this makes it into the 7th. No way.

DeLaHoya fight was a sham. That dude would've lost to just about anybody, unfocused, Lethargic, he had a horrible showing. Unfair to go off that assessment.
I want Pac to win, however, it has to be pointed out that Hatton is fighting back to back p4p.
That is unreal.

Let's see, would I rather root for:

Hatton: Hugs more than throws. Boring as shit to watch.
Pacquiao: Throws punches from all angles. Always on the attack

Hatton: Disrespects the sport and profession by ballooning up to 180 lbs between fights drinking and partying
Pacquiao: Always stays in shape and comes to fight shredded

Hatton: 140 his entire career. Pussies out every time he tries to move to 147. Gets chased back down because he's too small.
Pacquiao: Starts career at 106 and has the balls to move to 147 to fight a legend in DLH. Destroys great fighters as he moves up.

Hatton: Boasts about being #1 lb for lb
Pacquiao: Humble

You are so partial its stupid.
I mean I'm on the same boat.
Hatton is tough as shit, does what he is good at, brawling, he killed malinaggi as a boxer.
Hatton has a chin.. have you forgotten Kosta Tsyzu... Anyway, he is a 2 handed fighter, goes to the body better than any boxer besides Cotto.

Hatton has not bragged about being P4P, that I've ever seen... you are making shit up now.
Dude is fighting P4P back to back.
I'm so not rooting for Hatton, but give man his due. He's a hall of famer, and is by fart Pac's toughest challenge yet.
How is it disrepectful to boxing to baloon up in weight. If anything it shows dude has the Will to cut weight from 180 to 140 in 6 weeks. I can't think of anything more 'Local' than that.

Look I'm all for Pac, but to say things that are not true about Hatton. It takes away from the fight.

Pac wins in the 4th... however the odds are the 10th.
So, I could be wrong.

I respect your objectivity not you False Crack Territorial Tude.

Hatton Believes He Should Be Rated At #1 P-4-P If He Beats Pacquiao

Hatton Believes He Should Be Rated At #1 P-4-P If He Beats Pacquiao

..."I hope to claim the number one pound-for-pound slot," Hatton said. "Manny has beaten Juan Manuel Marquez, the pound-for-pound number two, twice. If I beat Manny Pacquiao, I believe I should go to the top pound-for-pound spot in the world. If I do what I do best, I will have too much in every area for Manny."

Completely absurd.

I love to watch Manny Pacquiao. He's hard hitting, lightening fast, constant pressure, and can go for 12 rounds non-stop.

why Pacman will win.
"Fighting for Freedom! Fighting for Freedom against De ENGLISHMEN!"

Okay, U gotta point. He's bad ass, but yeah...
Again... HF... We were rooting for Aiea Boy... got his ass handed too him.
Hatton is just selling the fight and he knows in his heart that Pac is dangerous, but it's his will and ambition to believe... he knows he's gotta believe he can hang and eliminate doubt.
Hell that's victory for me... The fight, shit whatever happens, happens.

Pac on the other hand. Dude loves to fight, it seems to me, that he's solid and got more courage than anything... but in this case, his humility, experience on the streets, growing up poor, and spirituality appears to be his strength. I mean how else could one man carry a nation, and win over other nations... like Mexico, as he has killed all their best. Dude wins peeps over cause of heart.
They both do.
I'm looking forward to this epic fight.
I'm also looking forward to the trainers talk shit to each other.
Even though both are top 3 in the world.

Can Paci speak english?

Chris you are my boy and all.
I see you got pissed about this..
So no biggie.
I also know you are not a racist, U hate it as much do.

I know you are kidding.
Dude speaks:I'm a Man of Integrity and Heart, Out of 6 Billion, the best at my Craft, I lead a Nation, Language. I don't speak this language, but understand a little.
Pac Speaks it fluently.
Also I speak English, think that language is better.

How is it absurd to say that IF he wins against Pacquiao that he will be the best p4p in the world? He's just showing his respect to Pacquiao by calling him the current best p4p in the world. If he beats the man then he will become the man. I respect the way Hatton will always give 100% and take on only the best fighters around. So what if he balloons up between fights if he comes in shredded and in shape? If anything it shows his dedication to training although by the sounds of it Mayweather Senior has made him cut back on the partying between fights.

I'm 50/50 on this fight. Hatton is stronger and hits harder. He could bully Pacquiao if he's allowed to get in close by the ref. His training camp though has apparently been mared by 'personality clashes' and if he hasn't prepared properly then he'll get punished.

Pacquiao's speed is second to none and he could be hard for Hatton to catch. Those fast punches could eventually take effect against Hatton in the later round although I can't see Pac getting an early stoppage/KO.

I mean, we think he doesnt boast but maybe its because he doesnt speak english.

I'm also looking forward to an epic fight. This will be all action, tough, and gritty. Anybody who is a boxing fan must watch this fight.

I thought boxing was dead in America and only UFC was big now?

For me, although i enjoy watching UFC, big fights in UFC will never match big fights in boxing in terms of excitement.

Watch Carl Froch's last two fights for examples of what i mean. Will beat grappling on the floor any day.

I mean, we think he doesnt boast but maybe its because he doesnt speak english.

Yeah, I can assure you, he is like an archetype in the Phillipines.
Dude doesn't boast, gives everything up to God, is devoutly religious, and like still lives in the General City of Manila, a very, very poor place. He is like down to earth. There is no crime in Manila on his Fight days, you don't understand how he is like a National Hero...
Dude if I were like a 10/th as big as that, I would be Cataclysmic, my Ego would get the better of me Exponentially... I mean you think MayWeather is bad, I would be even worse. Just Sneaky Ego wise. Anyway, it takes an incredibly stable mindset to stay simple while living in abundance. Focus, Determination, and Will... My point is that dude is so genuinely humble... it's inspiriing and a testament to humility, simplicity, and good Will.

I know you were just playing... and I ain't trying to like make ya mad, or something like that, you know I value you.
I'm just kinda proud that my nationality has someone that actually is the 'real deal'.
It's nice when you got a good guy to represent your ethnicity.

oh, he's from the 'pines??? I thought he was mexican. In that case, he's good in my book. Didnt mean to upset you lol. I dont really follow boxing, like at all, so yeah my ignorance shines through.

Hatton has a puncher's chance in the fight, but will be overwhelmed by Pacquiaos speed and aggression.

agreed. . .he's a hard-nosed son-of-a-bitch. . .but he's got nothing for pacman. . .it wouldn't necessarily surprise me if the fight went the distance. . .but if it does, hatton will be very, very marked-up by the end. . .and pacquiao will look like he could go another 10 rounds. . .

Both great fighters in their prime. De la Hoya dehydrated his body but something went wrong and his body didn't come back, he came in at 147 on fight day and was weak. Any top rated welterweight would have beaten him on the day he and Pacquiano fought. Look at Hattons sunken in face at the weigh in, he dehydrated himself to make 140 but by fight time he should be close to 150 while Manny will still be aroud 137. Hatton will be by far the strongest world class figher Manny has ever faced. Manny is a great fighter and if he beats Hatton it will prove no doubt how great he is. If the ref lets Hatton stay on the inside I think Hatton will win

I like Pacquiao but want Hatton to win more than ever tonight because I just heard that Mayweather Jr is coming out of retirement. Would love to see a rematch of Hatton v Mayweather with a different ref.

BBC SPORT | Boxing | Mayweather to make boxing return

Mayweather is scheduled to fight Juan Manual Marquez...
Look for Mayweather to lose.

Also dude, Manny walks around at 155, why do you think he would weigh in at 137,
He weighed in more than Oscar during their fight tipping at 148.

Hatton is a stud, Top 5 world class, and he's only gotten much better.
However, I see a 9th round ko for Pac.

Walking around weight isn't the same as fighting weight. Hattons walking aroung weight is around 170. Hatton is a able to dehydrate down to 140 and be around 150 - 155 fighting weight on fight day.Thats why he isnt the same fighter at 147 because his best fighting weight is still going to be around 150 to 155. Hatton is going to have around 10 solid pounds on Pac on fight day. I like Pac and Hatton both and give the edge to Pac on boxing skills and speed but Hatton is world class and if the ref doesnt keep them apart Hatton has an advantage.

Everyone here makes good points. I think it's gonna be a lot tougher fight for pac then people think. He's made the right modifications to come out on top here. Hatton gots some great advantages with a new improved trainer, he's in the best shape ever(don't think he'll tire out), he's stronger, bigger, moves well on his feet, has never lost at 140, and is more educated on the finer points in terms of boxing, rather then brawl. He gots a great chance. I'm still going with pac though. I'd love to see him do well. Not many can match his pressure, energy, and awesome hand speed. GO PAC!!!!!

TKO in the 3rd or 4th from Pacquiao

Damn that was a good call. I didn't expect that kind of destruction. After the first round, I was worried for Hatton's health. Pacquio could have killed him tonight. Hatton was drooling on himself after that left hand. WOW!!!!!!!

Pac is Pac.
Lookout MayWeather...
I feel bad for Hatton, he looked sharper, faster, more dedicated.
However, shit... that was not human.
Seriously...
Hatton will return to fight and reclaim his glory, he is the man...
His goal though was just blocked by someone with equal grit,
but way more speed... deceptive power too.

Pacquiao dominated the fight. Put Hatton down twice in the first and finished in the second with a picture perfect straight left with 1 second to go in the second round. Hatton was on the canvas for over five minutes and looked really really bad. He was literally drooling on himself.

Hatton needs to hang it up. He seriously could have been killed tonight.

Yeah...
I don't think he will....
Depends on CT scan.
U are right, I think he will retire a hall of fame career.
He can't fight anyone, bad thing about being in top 5 of the world.
I don't like the way this looks though, like him and Oscar had careers that were beyond greatness, but just happened to fight a dude who was better at this craft.
It just looks bad. U can't have one dude's rise to glory, whom I dig... but at the cost of kinda tarnishing the magnificence of an entire career.

Hey gimme a sec...i"m gonna send u some clips pm style of movies you should watch...

Also, did you watch the fight?

U finished the 50 dollars of steak last night...
I bet.

I"m gonna see MW in June, if you wanna tagalong.

Now that was brutal! Hatton was much slower than usual and he had no gameplan. Completely played into Pacquiao's hands. He should retire because his punch resistance and speed have gone. Glad i did't stay up to watch it now!

Pacquiao is an amazing fighter though. Could beat Mayweather on that form i think.

MayWeather Sr. is so underrated. He is the best when it comes to defensive strategy...
Wrong dude to fight, cause Hatton needed to pressure fight, Can't box...
However, Mayweather was teaching him more balance... and transformed Hatton.
Thing is Hatton should not've come out so aggressive, but waited a lil bit more.
He also should have listened more to MayWeather instead of trying to bullrush again..
MayWeather Talked so Much Shit Before the Fight...
I do not blame him... He had to Pump His Fighter Up. He had to get him and his fighter to Believe in what they were doing.
He is a Leader Like that. So, here my point... I take nothing away from Mayweather or Hatton...
Hatton takes way, way, way more risk in his style.... He needed to lay back more, however, I think he was so fucking pissed... and brave, that it cost him.
Also he didn't listen.
I think this marriage will end up bitter... maybe not, though depending on if they are bigger than this, and just accept, that they fought P4P twice,
this is not done... by the less than the bold and the brave.
I felt bad for Hatton, cause dude is a warrior, and I would feel disheartened if this happened to Pac.

chris and I were in the MGM the night of the fight (we went to see KA). we hung out with Mario Lopez who consequently is like 120 lbs IRL. fuggin twerp
