I almost slashed my left hand in two several years ago in an accident. After I got throught surgery the next week I was on 4 percocet a day for two weeks. I was in la la land pretty much the whole time from just that.

Percodan/Percocet
Same active ingredient as Oxycotin. Same effect as heroin. Very relaxing. I used Percodan years ago. I used to use it once a week for relaxation purposes. Problem is that eventually I built up a tolerance to it. I had to take 5 hits for it to work. Slows the heart down too much. Snorted skag in Nam. Very relaxing. Never used the needle though. All of these things are just a legal version of heroin. Though I've never used it a friend of mine told me that Dilaudid #4 was the best.

The article's pretty interesting/depressing. There's some statistic that said there's lots of people who make the switch over to heroin just because it's cheaper than Oxycontin. Talk about a textbook "gateway drug"...
They're gonna have to pull this off the market. It's fake heroin, with all the addictive power.
$8 a pill??? More like $25.
And yes, the strength of it is why they give it to cancer patients...that is supposed to be the worst pain known to man.....

Though not as Potent Vicodin is wayyy addictive.
My Doc put me on Vivodin for about 10 days for a bad back strain a few months ago.
I took it along with some Muscle Relaxer and it was quite lovely.
After about 6-7 days I stopped taking the Vicodin, cold turkey and that day I started to feel real bad.
Breathing difficulties such as having to forcefullly think about inhaling, Shortness of breath and Chest pressure
I thought I was haveing a heart attach and made a beeline to the Hospital.
All checked out fine and they said I was having classic Vicodin withdrawl symptoms...Scarrrrry.
That shit went in the trash....

That's old news. That stuff made headlines where I live 2 years ago. Now there's a dumbass personal injury lawyer filing a class action suit against the manufacturer. The problem is that it doesn't have the same effect if used as directed. To get high I think you have to crush it up and snort it or something.

This shit is fucking deadly. Why would you want to fuck with something that can kill you and is more addictive than heroin. There are indicators of growing abuse of and addiction to the synthetic narcotic painkiller OxyContin. OxyContin is a form of synthetic morphine taken in tablet form designed to kill pain over several hours. It is primarily used by cancer patients.
The drug is being abused by addicts who intensify it’s euphoric heroin-like effects by by injecting or snorting it. Dr. J. David Haddox of Purdue Pharma said OxyContin, when abused, can significantly slow breathing and is easily overdosed. The abuse of OxyContin appears to be most common in small, isolated areas, although no one is sure why.
According to the Associated Press, there was a meeting between the drug maker, Purdue Pharma, and law enforcement officials from five states on March 1, 2001. Those attending the meeting included officials from West Virginia, Ohio, Maryland, Kentucky and the federal Drug Enforcement Administration. OxyContin has caused an increase in crime and death in Virginia, where 32 overdose deaths have been reported.
Purdue Pharma said it would help combat abuse by making tamper-resistant prescription containers for areas of southwest Virginia where authorities say abuse is rampant and spending $100,000 on a study of prescription monitoring programs in Virginia. The company will also form two drug abuse task forces and investigate the illegal sale of drugs over the Internet.
Authorities said doctors may be over-prescribing the drug and making it too widely available. But Maryland Attorney General J. Joseph Curran Jr. said he hoped doctors would not hesitate to provide it to those truly in need. ``Where there is pain that can be relieved, we want it to be relieved,'' Curran said.
