ok, unless anyone gives me objections and comes up with better stuff in the same price range, this is what it looks like i'm getting....

plus i need to buy a case. i'm looking at about $360 with all that stuff not including case or shipping.

OR

go with the Dell Dimension and get all that stuff except i get a 2.8ghz processor, 17" Flat panel, and a LEGIT copy of XP, all for $700, plus i don't have to assemble it and make it work, all i have to do is pull my 100g hard drive out of the current computer and drop it into the Dell.

FAWK! i hate making these decisions.

ok, nobody cares but me, but i'm gonna post it anyway.

got all the stuff in the above post except the video card. went with an FX5200 instead, so 256mb instead of 128.

plus a case for $33 plus shipping.

grand total - $467.26.

i have plenty of room to upgrade this setup too. can bump up to 3gb of ram and at least a 3.2ghz processor. i'll check out the onboard sound, but if i don't like it, i've got a 5.1 LIVE card that should still be good to drop in there.

so i'll be a "happy" camper when i'm trying to install my "legit" version of XP onto the new setup.

ok, i'll be happy when it's all done.

and i know only Digger cares, but I thought i'd share with everyone anyway.
