Vinny was pretty fuckin good for the jets when he first came there. i would have taken vinny circa late 90's of any quarterback the jets have had in recent history.
anyways, you can't compare the two. vinny has a way better arm, and lacks the mobility of sanchez.
just because there's a parallel in that they went to an elite college football school doesn't mean they'll be similar.
They don't even have similar college stats. Also, Vinny had michael irvin lol
so where are you drawing this conclusion from?
This draft is gonna do one of two things for the Jets
Turn them around to have a franchise QB and a good running back for when TJ and possible Leon Washington leaves (he wants starter money)and they will be very succesfull
OR... Sanchez could buckle like SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO many others and the new york sportsworld will eat him up and it sets you back for years to come,
Problem is with this trade and many others you have little depth for injuries on alot of key positions

Leon washington is not going anywhere. bank on that. He's way too valuable on special teams and on offense. TJ is gone after this year. That's why they got Greene. Leon deserves to get paid. he's been great for this year since his rookie year and hes been making peanuts. im 100% sure the jets will reward his loyalty at the end of the year.
Sanchez has alot of charisma and an aura about him. You can tell when he speaks hes a confident dude and a natural leader. There will be a big honeymoon period for him, even for jets fan. He'll be fine in NY. It's very rare you can say that about anyone playing in NY regardless of the sport, but it's pretty true in this case.
jets biggest issues right now
1.) no blocking TE
2.) thin on the defensive line
3.) alot of young unproven WR's and no real #2 behind Cotchery
we have depth at every other position.
Problem is they are gonna have to give Sanchez a guar. 36 mill, along with V. Gholston ridiculous money from last year, they are gonna be hard pressed to sign a guy who is a special teamer and a third down back who wants a every down backs money. Not saying it's not gonna happen but I think the Jets also slid up for Greene to soften the blow of losing TJ and possibly L. Washingon too next off season.

The defense is not weak, it's been how long since they were able to play their whole first team together? Over the last two years, their defense had the worst injury time missed. Yet, if Asante Samuel makes one fucking catch, they add another Super Bowl.
The thing I love is most teams have serious drop-off and need to rebuild. The Pats had some good additions and also keep loading up on draft picks. Hell...they have three second rounders again next year.
How the hell do you run the ball when their RB's keep breaking down? Or better...Brady was throwing bombs. I thought for sure the Pat's would dump Maroney for a draft pick and take a decent RB. Hell....CJ Spiller is better than Maroney.

Really? What was wrong with Pennington? When healthy and surrounded by healthy Wide Receivers, he was pretty decent. The Jets always seem to have offensive injuries just as they start rolling.
