NFL draft

You have no secondary whats so ever and ...the only hope you have in your coaching system...it takes avg players and makes them look good....maybe itll help out your secondary

lol

The cornerback spot has gotten a drastic overhaul. Veterans who saw the bulk of the action last year have either been traded or cut loose since the end of the season (Hobbs, Lewis Sanders, Jason Webster and Deltha O’Neal), and many of the ones who remain have only one year under their belt in the New England system (Jonathan Wilhite and Terrence Wheatley). In their place are free-agent signees (Shawn Springs, Leigh Bodden), as well as a rookie (Butler).

It doesn’t appear the Patriots will add any more cornerbacks between now and late July, so New England figures to enter training camp with a great positional battle at the position. Our guess would be that Wheatley -- who became a starter midway through the 2008 season and was impressive before suffering a wrist injury -- and Springs would have the inside track on the starters' jobs, while Butler, Bodden and Wilhite battle for the nickel corner position.

Whilite started most of the last half of the season as a rookie and filled in great, played solid.
Bodden was in Cleveland and played under Romeo(same sytem) ans flourished, was traded to Detroit in the shaun rodgers deal last year and well, did what every player does when they go to Detroit, he died.

Merriweather came into his own as a hard hitter and ball hawk last season and you have Chung and Sanders rotating at FS.

Springs is a ? mark for sure, most washington fans I talked to tell me when he's playing he is a above average corner. So we shall see.
I truly think you might be a bit misguided on the revamp of the defensive backfield they have done over the past two seasons.
Like with every team, performance remains to be seen though.

They have TREMENDOUS depth on their team (minus QB)
NFL=injuries
depth=winning
