Blah blah blah. There are raw meets if you want to lift raw. And meets with equipment if you want to use equipment. So pick a meet and stop bitching.
 
what about the guy that benchpressed 900? there's a link to the video on the training board i believe...I'm not sure though, please clear this up for me.

It's the same guy. Gene Rychlak. He hit 885, then a couple weeks later 900.

So the whole concet of Shirts is a big phazzaz. If a person can't lift the weight naturally then he didn't acutally lift the weight, but rather was aided, in this case with the shirt. Its like saying I can bench 500 lb on a smith machine but does that really mean anything?

I agree, and Im not a big fan of shortening the squat to a half squat, again to lift more weight. But its not a knock against powerlifting, if that appeals to you, go for it. But regular weightlifting (Olympic that is) is much, much more difficult. And like Slobberknocker said, there are raw meets and competitors, but theyre about as popular as the natural ones, lol.

I suppose. But you can bet that lifters wear shirts for the gains above all else. My shirt was good for 70 pounds at my last meet. AND, I tore my damn pec doing weighted dips. Go figure. :rolleyes:
