Nelson, thanks for destroying my calves. . .

Nelson, I did your calf routine you outlined in Bottomline Bodybuilding on Monday for the first time, and HOLY SHIT my calves are still wrecked!

. . . but I freakin' loved it. The best calf workout I've had hands down. My stubborn calves are not going to have any choice but to grow!!!

I love doing legs until you can't stand and fall over. what was that calf workout? or is it secret??

Nelson's calf routine absolutely destroys my calves. The first time I did them standing, I had to crawl to the bathroom the next morning. Walking (or my sad attempt at it) was unbelievably painful. I've never had so much pain from a workout. It's the first time I've said "I'll never do this again!"...but I did after I healed. :)

15 second rest periods. I actually read about 15 second rest intervals in Men's Health I believe. The theory was that your calves are under stress all day long from walking, so they need very short rest compared to other body parts.

I know a few of the writers over at MH, so I'm not surprised they adopted it.

The calve routine in Bottom Line Bodybuilding is a little different from the one that's been posted here several times but the principal is very similar. For type II muscles, (calves and forearms) this works best, though the technique is important for best results.

I have posted some new pics up in the Member's Picture Forum. One shot u can see my calves from the front, which takes a bit of size to happen. Nelson's routine helped with that. They already had some decent size but his routine helped kick them into overdrive.

Thursday and still sore from Monday's calf workout. Most dramatic case of calf DOMS I've ever experienced. I was planning on doing the routine 2x a week, but I'm reconsidering that idea. . . .

I never thought of this for forearms, but it makes perfect sense. What exercise(s) would you recommend? I have one of those old Ivanko Super Grippers. . . . . would that work?
