This is my second week of using the routines and suggestions in Nelson's book "The Bodybuilding Truth" and I have to say I haven't been this sore since I first started lifting!

I usually do a 5 day a week routine: Chest, Back, Legs, Shoulders, Arms. I've been honing down my routine for months now and it seemed like although I was doing a lot of exercises I wasn't really getting very sore anymore. Well since I started Nelson's routines I think I'm gonna switch back to a 3 day split. My body is just too sore to work out every day now. Yesterday my BACK was sore from my CHEST day and my Bi's were still sore from last friday that I could only do a half assed back routine. That has NEVER happened to me before. Usually I'm fully recovered from my arms day by monday. And last week I couldn't even do a legs day because my legs were so sore from doing bent over rows that I couldn't lift anything with them!

Anyway I'm gonna hop off Nelson's dick now but if anyone was thinking of buying that book, BUY IT! I definitely improved my workouts so much it was worth any price. Thanks Nelson!

good book .. enjoyed it as well .. deff not the same stuff u read over and over .. lol

i was gettin ready to make this same post. the book is a great read, things i thought i already knew were corrected in this book. a real eye opener.

also doining nelsons workout, gotta say its great so far! the calf workout is one of the most painful burns ive ever gotten from lifting or working out.

i deffinately suggest this book to anyone with doubts or starting out in the sport of body building.

I like him. great to have him here with us.
agreed X2.even though i dont always agree lmfaoo.. lotta dudes get offended by his different thought.. i love it ..challenges us to pay attention to whats goin on with what we putting in our bodies and the effect it has .. not just goin threw the motion and doing what we have read over and over what "works best" from so called experts ..

X10 I agree. Nelson is an asset to not only this board, but our sport in general. Sure he's ancient:), but this vet def knows his shit. He challenges people to think outside the box. I know his experience has helped out many, and I hope he continues to be an asset around here. I've spoken to him personally, and he is a really nice guy. :rainbow:

On the other hand, my calves hate his guts.

I remember the good old days when I was the only person who liked Nelson and everybody else thought he was an insane heretic.

He was way ahead of his time on a lot of things.

Agreed. I don't know why some people get so pissed when someone tries to offer advice for free. There are a few people on this site that have always helped me with my questions. Then they get flamed for giving advice. Pretty funny.

Hey longtime no see Bro hope things are good but if you remember there were two of us that actually liked him

At last he has a chance to debate and it is handled like grown ups unlike the big flame crap of 5 years ago

Good to see you

Good to see you bro.

Yeah, actually there were quite a few of us back then who thought Nelson was a thought leader. I'm glad time bore us out.

I still have his first two books saved on my old pc that I STILL read till this day. :) He has some great old school Vince Gironda style tips with common sense thrown in for good measure. A great collection of ebooks. They are just as useful to me now as they were around 2002. Great reads all around. :)

Wow, this might be TOO much love for one man to get from so many other men. LOL!

Seriously, thanks for the props. Lots of good bros here. Looking forward to more growth -- intellectual and physical in 2008.

Well i figued i would give Quick Calves a shot. i usually train calves with 2 or 3 exercises, so I figured one exercise 75 reps piece of cake! Loaded on enough weight for a good 20 reps and thought 75 will come easily. I rested for about 5 or 8 seconds then banged off another 10 reps and repeated but I soon found myself only getting in 4 or 5 reps at a time. 75 reps was harder than I could have imagined, could barely walk after and for the next three days my calves were beyond sore, some even asked what the hell was wrong with me seeing me walking all funny. Just one question, how many times a week should calves be trained using this approach?

Perfect opportunity to throw in some girlie flirting then

Bottomline BBing is awesome for the workouts.

I think the cycle advice in this book surpasses anything I have read anywhere else.

Big Cyber Hug Nelson for being such a clever cookie

Nelson definitely deserves all these comments. I've never seen anything but good info in his posts.

I have purchased two of his e books Bottomline and Bodybuilding Truth and they are both a awesome read plus out of the box techniques to workouts and nutrition.I have been doing the leg and calves workout for the past two weeks and all I can say is , what a blast.
