the white red blue and green rcas are connected to tv, the grey yellow white and red are to xbox, and the optical from xbox to the receiver as u can see

why do you have RCA audio coming from xbox to receiver as well as Optical? you only need one... you aren't trying to get sound out of the tv are you? not sure if there is a bridge from Optical to other audio outputs. also, check your receiver's settings and make sure in the menu it is set to Optical input.
