trying to hook up my xbox360 to my samsung 5.1 800w surround sound system??? I bought optical cable pluged it in but no sound!!! please helppppp

i dunno bout the 360, but on the ps3, u gotta go into the settings and tell it u want to use advanced video/audio output

i hooked up my xbox av cables into the back of the receiver ok, then the optical cable from xbox av cords to the back of receiver as well, then the out avs from receiver to tv, now i have sound from xbox menues, but no image, wtf

back of my receiver has no blue and green plug ins for av cords, just regular yellow white and red, but back of my tv does
