Ahhh, that's wtf those things are for...!

Blut - nice rack! Almost as nice as TSO's!

bizzarely that was my first thought when I read this post.

but it is a lovely looking bit of kit, looks sturdy enough to drop some serious weight on

nice and shiny.. cant weight till its all scracthed up and looking like a real power rack!!

How low do the pin holes go on the powertec rack? i am looking at ordering one. I would like to have pins low enough to do floor presses with the bars in place for safety.

The bottom holes are about 16" from the ground. With the safety bars there, the bar is at a height such that, when I grip it, my elbows are about an inch off the ground.

This means that you couldn't floor press inside the rack but could use the front for a safe lift-off. From experience, I know that with a plate on each end and resting on the floor, the bar is high enough off the floor that I'm in no danger of being crushed around the neck so that'd would be fine for me. Your requirements may vary.

thanks for the response. I like the dips handle picture also. i think i'm sold on this rack. The gym i'm currently using is eliminating a sports only training area with basketball court and sprint area. Then they are replacing it with ballroom dancing...wtf? So, i'm looking hard into the home gym right now.

I have this exact same rack and i like it more than i thought i was going too. I never bought a bench for it because i don't have the money at the time, so i still go to the gym. However i do floor presses all the time on it and you don't have too worry about dropping weight on yourself. If you start failing turn your head and drop the bar and just make sure your elbows are already on the ground.
