Kimbo!!!!

Razorguns said:
how about a rematch with the white guy who kicked Kimbo's ass 2 years ago?

Better yet, against Fedor if he's really that good. Cause people are talking about him like if he was some kind of Tyson. Last time I checked he was light years away from that.

Wow, in retrospect, that's a terrible fight.

Now we need to see him fight Brock Lesnar.

If he beats Lesnar, he fights Mir.

If he beats Mir, he fights Tim Sylvia.

If he beats Sylvia, he fights Couture. They'll figure out a set of rules that will suit.

If he beats Couture, he fights Fedor.

Then he takes all comers--anyone named Silva, Lidell, Quinton Jackson should put butts in seats.

Wouldn't make it past Lesnar...he took down Mir like it was nothing. Unfortunately for him, Mir is awesome at submissions. I don't think Kimbo would have a chance after getting taken down by Lesnar.

think we need a Mike Tyson vs Kimbo match.......

I would rather see someone who isn't a washed up, over the hill fighter. I'd like to see how he does against a grappler.

But doesn't Lesnar basically have to wade through at least one wave of Kimbo headshots to get to him?

C'mon man, with those tiny ass gloves, even Marvin Hagler would have a hard time standing up to a few Kimbo head shots.

Besides, Kimbo needs to be in a couple fights that go to the ground. He wouldn't make the same mistakes Lesnar did against Mir.

How the fuck did biteme get into Lumberg's loggin?

Kimbo is a guaranteed moneymaker for Elite XC. They are NOT going to match him up against anybody really serious for another 2-3 fights. I just don't see EXC taking a risk at Kimbo loosing his mystique too quickly by being beat. They will feed him fighters to help him build experience first.

Fonz SAS training and nuclear engineered light bending punches - not to mention the third arm that was growing out of his torso - would be too much for Kimbo to overcome.

wow kimbo beat another bum lol .. thats what he does best .. just like the street brawls

I look forward to seeing this guy get destroyed by a half ass decent fighter.

In all of his "street fights", his little crew would always go nuts if someone hit him with a knee, elbow, or put him in any kind of submission.

Now he's in organized fighting that has rules which allow such things, but do require you to be a professional about your buisness, and look at him.

He's hitting a guy in the back of the head while he's down, ignoring the referee's attempts to repremand him, almost trying to shove him out of the way, refusing to stop when the referee ask him to because of a missing mouthpiece etc.

It's real easy for him to act this way when he's fighting a nobody and winning handily. But I'll bet my money that when he's in a fight that actually requires heart, courage and will, that he gives up and proves to have none of it. Much like Sapp.

But until that happens, the hype will continue to build around this nut.

Hell, he's now 2-0 in some bogus ass unheard of fighting league, has choked out a 40 something year old out of shape retired boxer, and knocked out a 43 year old with 60% bodyfat who had an impecable 9-13 record when he was in his prime.

Fedor might as well kneel at this guy's feet and UFC should immediately turn the heavyweight belt over to him, because he's now the most dominant bestest fighter in the world!

At least that's what his youtube crew in the Hummer told me....

I knew he wasnt' coming in at 260+........not after training with Bas. Tank was his same old fat piece of shit.........Kimbo at least came in in decent shape, hence his win. I simply would never step in a ring WITH ANYONE in that terrible of shape. The announcers were calling Tank being winded within 15 seconds of the opening bell. That's just terrible. I understand he's 42, but than hang it up. And how the hell are you gonna keep your hands "down" when you're fighting a pure boxer? What, was he expecting a crocop'esque liver kick from Kimbo?

I'm friends with some Brazilians and Russians here in LA that could eat guys like Kimbo for lunch. They even moonlight as celeb bodyguards on weekends. Most are ex-military. Scary mofos.

I own a sports bar and let me tell you..there are a few things about this crap that really pissed me off

1. Sho time (fucking idiots) do not have a plan yet to allow bars and other commercial establishments to legally show the fight - absolutely retarded since without allowing us to purchase the fight they lower (drastically) the amount of revenue made on the fight

2. Whoever promoted this shit and selected the date and time did a really poor job since it was aired on the same night (and almost the same time) as the Pavlik Taylor rematch

3. Is there some reason that anyone thought Tank had a chance? I mean - he is old and hardly able to handle himself at this point. Kimbo, although not the best fighter by any means, was simply in better shape and did I mention about half tanks age ;-)

4. Check this out - go locate the next elite fight and guess what...it is on March 1st, the same fucking day as UFC 82. Once again, some idiot promoter did not do his homework and will now find that the audience he hoped to have is out watching a real fight - the UFC 82 fight..

Just a matter of time before he gets in with a real fighter. And he will go down. I'd like to see him with Sliva, or a worth wile heavy weight.

As far as the back of the head, Tank had a hold of his ankle the whole time.

What's the etiquette on that? Here, feel free to hold onto my ankle and do with it what you like while I stand here, arms at my sides, whilstling a tune.

I also have a pay-per-view UFC style fight coming up.

I'm taking on a 350lb 45 y/o badass I met on World of Warcraft. Apparently, he's from a badass neighborhood, and has had a really rough childhood.

It's going to be brutal. This guy is hardcore and has done many bad things in his life. Many on the internet are scared of him.

If you PM me, i can get you the broadcast for only $12.95.

why are they making kimbo fight these washed up bums.

are they trying to hype him up and have him learn on the fly along the way?

He has no clue how to grapple, wrestle or has a clue about jujitsu.

one of the real MMA fighters would fuckin own him

I know. There gonna give him Ken Shamrock next. He's a shell of what he was in the 90's.

this idea is simple - it is what we call the "mike tyson" effect. You get a guy in there and let him beat the living shit out of other people until his name gets so big that his ego can no longer fit through the double doors of the arena. Then, and only then, (once you have made all your money) do you put him against someone with tallent like evander in this example and truly see what he is made out of. I hope when kimbo decides to take a bite out of someone he brings a knife and fork...

Maybe Shamrock is due to win one of these times.

I hope he loses. Shamrock is a dick in real life. He's been to my friends MMA gym grand opening and he acted like he was to good to role with anyone. Not very social this guy is. My freind brought his son and Shamrock didn't even want to give him the time or day.

maybe thats why he's been getting the shit kicked out of the last few fights.

Definitely some truth there. But you have to have a wiling and able subject.

Otherwise we'd all be busy becoming multimillionaire boxing promoters.

But a guy like Tyson, a guy like Kimbo, only comes around every so often.

And I don't mean talent necessarily. Just a specimen. Not in a racist way, though the term does refer almost exclusively to blacks.

You need someone who's incredibly strong, incredibly fast, incredibly motivated, and incredibly aggressive. Yet controllable.

Not a common combination.

I know you weren't the original person to do it, but comparing Kimbo's career to Tyson's is like camparing a Cocker Spaniel humping my leg 5 minutes ago to John Holmes's porn career.

Seriously, I'm not going to get into everything as far as Tyson, I covered a good bit of it here, if you're interested (and please, don't feel like you have to be interested just because you clicked on a fight thread about Kimbo, it's like saying you have to be a conniseur of fine candel smells just because you smell an occassional fart that a friend shits out).

http://www.elitefitness.com/forum/martial-arts/greatest-heavweight-all-time-481776-3.html

and yes, I have many post on that thread, so please read beyond my initial one if you take the time to read it.

Please.... if we are going to name the Kimbo trend, let's not put it anywhere close to what Tyson was. First, Mike was 18 when he fought his first pro fight, and Kimo is in his mid 30's and Mike was fighting real fighters and looking to learn and move up, while Kimbo is a circus act giving the circus followers something to talk about.

Let's more accurately call Kimbo's career the "perfume on shit" effect. :)

You have a pile of shit sitting there, and someone sprays perfume on it and says "but..but .... everyone, look how good this smells, especially over youtube!". Now, most of us just see the pile of shit, and say, who cares what you spraid on it, it's still just a pile of turds?", while there are a few who proclaim, "My, how good does that smell, "BEST FIGHTER EVER!!!! NOW LETS GET IN THE WHITE HUMMER AND GO TO A STRIP CLUB!!!!"

Amazing how much weight the second group's opinion carries. And it represents a much larger example of what's wrong with societies manipubility other than mistaking a street brawling bum with a world class fighter. :(
