Is My Cycle Theory Stupid?

Jobu, you think a CKD will melt this fat the fastest?

If so, which method do you recommend? There is a CKD worksheet on the diet board - just like that?

Hey Radar,

As you can see, my diet is rock solid (unless you find something wrong with it, and if you do, speak up, son).

I have also stated I know there aren't any substitutes for diet and hard work. My diet has been solid and I've "killed that shit" and sweat blood 6 days a week in the gym. The fact that I've lost 8 punds of bodyfat in a month is a clear testament to that fact.

I guess this should be in the diet forum but I'll answer here anyway. There are a few threads in the diet forum that you might want to read through:

I think it's a great way to start dropping BF quickly. I just gave it a try for the first time a couple weeks ago and was very happy with the results. I think people try to do too much with a single diet...drop BF and build lean mass at the same time for example. I'd suggest cycling CKD for 2-3 weeks with a more balanced "bodybuilding" diet including complex carbs for 2-4 weeks. My theory is that this will help with the lean mass losses that some fell come along with CKD. It's very important to change your workouts appropriately for CKD vs BB diet also. The entire point of CKD is to deplete carb/glycogen stores and get your body using BF as it's primary fuel. This means you won't be nearly as strong and heavy intense workouts just won't be very effective and you'll actually end up breaking down muscle if you're working too hard. While on ckd keep workouts to high volume lifting (15+ rep sets) and long slow cardio sessions (60+ min) at ~65% MHR. This will optimize the use of BF for energy without stressing your body into switching over to prot stores. The one chance you do have to lift heavy would be immediately after your carb-up...but your strength will still probably be down some so adjust weights appropriately. So you basically end up cycling between fat burning and muscle building diets and workouts. The lean gains will also help increase your base metabolism. If you can drop 5-10lbs of BF and gain 1lb lean mass each cycle you'll be on track to transform your body.

Good luck-

JoBu

Jobu,

Thanks for the excellent advice.

Right now I'm on a solid bodybuilding diet and losing fat without losing muscle.

Maybe I should stick on this for a while as it's working and then consider CKD once I get to a plateau. Then again, 10-15 pounds per 3 week CKD cycle is far faster fat loss than I'm experiencing now!

Thanks,

Nukdae

what can i find a good example of the CKD....
I am in keytosis now.. but am interested it the CKD
how much carbs for how many days and then batch to no carbs..???

Go here: http://168.144.38.254/ckd/

Type in your weight and it will give you a 7 day breakdown. I made my carb-up go from Friday night through Saturday night and didn't really keep track of what I was eating during that time...just tried not to go too crazy and kept the fat relatively low.
