Never said it isn't. But a Yalie and a state flagshipper will have vastly different opportunities in life. That's just one of those life facts: prestige and pedigree matter. A starting salary of $65k for a non-EE/ME/CS BS degree is highly unlikely, even in a high COL area like Cambridge or Palo Alto.
Also, to be fair, UG degrees are pretty worthless nowadays. They're similar to our parent's HS degrees.
I'd highly recommend a MS in accounting or something CPA- or actuarial-track (depending on how much upper-level stats and FM you've had).
I do think accounting is one of the stronger and more marketable degrees out there amidst a sea of bullshit degrees.
Also, the more work experience/internships you get before you graduate with x degree, the more desirable you will be. I think this is highly understated today, especially ITE.
