Is life less random after college?

Life will become so routine that you will make you fucking sick! Unless you dont get married, then life will be what you want it to be.

Agreed!

Only if you want it to be. Most people fall into line and do what they are told to do eventually. Get married, buy a house, get a dog, have a kid, do yard work, dinner with the in-laws, die.

But some of us actually enjoy the random and end up in the reverse situation as you - I find myself fighting as hard as possible to fend off the structure and routine that the world shoves down our throats.

it's always a battle

I am right there with you

May I ask what you mean by "structure"?

I CRINGE at the very thought of it. :worried:

I suppose there are those that crave the box and those that would suffocate at the mere mention of it.

Not saying there is anything wrong with *the box*. Just saying that I would rather wait until they nail mine shut, no need to rush it.

I resent that. WVU is a great school.

Never said it isn't. But a Yalie and a state flagshipper will have vastly different opportunities in life. That's just one of those life facts: prestige and pedigree matter. A starting salary of $65k for a non-EE/ME/CS BS degree is highly unlikely, even in a high COL area like Cambridge or Palo Alto.

Also, to be fair, UG degrees are pretty worthless nowadays. They're similar to our parent's HS degrees. I'd highly recommend a MS in accounting or something CPA- or actuarial-track (depending on how much upper-level stats and FM you've had).

I do think accounting is one of the stronger and more marketable degrees out there amidst a sea of bullshit degrees.

Also, the more work experience/internships you get before you graduate with x degree, the more desirable you will be. I think this is highly understated today, especially ITE.
