Is anyone else constantly injured

Im so friggin sick of being hurt and am wondering if anyone else constantly hurt. I havent benched heavy in 2 years due to injury. So i finally get back to heavy or kinda. I did 225x5 last week. I did it prett easily. Prob could have done it 3 or 4 more times. well what do you know. Both shoulders are aching me now. They feel like little twinges of pain that will heal in a week or 2 but its bullshit that im always plagued with this. Arent ligaments and tendons supposed to get stronger as you increase muscle size and get stronger? Does anyone else experience this?

I've lifted weights for 20 years or so and your a pussy with bad form. If you hurt yourself all the time your doing something wrong, maybe for a long time and you've worn out your body.

Moron, if your shoulders hurt, stop doing bench press. You ever hear of dips? Dumbbells? Worse thing you can do is start your chest routine with heavy bench presses. I'm sure that's what you do.

Ever think of trying to rehab your shoulders? I can tell you military press isn't going to help you. You need to lay off things that stress your shoulders.

moron...how bout this you asshole. No i dont start heavy u prick. I warm up thoroughly. I know there alot of idiots here but u need to make sure youre talking to an idiot before you start with your insults. Ive been lifting for 8 years. Yea 3 or 4 of them i didnt know what the hell i was doin. then i started reading and reading. So back to the topic at hand. Obviously now that my shouldrs are hurting im not doing bench presses or military presses either. Dips are a no no aswell. What i really wanna know is if these guys who have increased their bench significantly have experienced joint pain in the process

the guy was just stating something and asking a question u didnt have to get all in his shit and start insulting him and calling him a pussy...thats not right

No. The shoulder problem is something different, it doesn't go hand and hand with increasing bench. what's the big deal with bench anyways? Being able to bench 300 or so doesn't really do much for you in real life. It's not like squats which directly show real life results.

I believe they crucified the last person to question the almighty bench.

Regardless, the guy wants to press again and has had trouble. No need to jump his shit and call him names.

Musclelove, the issue with being a lifter and going back to lifts that you haven't done is that you aren't really conditioned to pound on them but yet you have the muscularture and neural efficiency to put a significant amount of load to work so even taking it easy and going slow, can be giving you a beating. Especially if you know it's a rough area, you need to take your time. Also consider that as you get old this only gets worse, I'd highly advise a supplemental recreational activity to loosen you up and get the joints moving without a lot of load on them. Exclusively weight training in slow basic movement patterns can make some people overly tight and prone to injury (that's my opinion anyway, I'm sure there's no longterm case studies out there but I feel it holds merrit).

yea thats deff a possibility. Im prob gonna back off a bit on all of my lifts and give time to adjust. I do believe that im tight aswell. I think ill go play some bball tomorrow

Try hitting your pecs first with flys, not to build muscle but just to loosen them up before you do any heavy lifting. Basicly you need stronger shoulders and or fatigue your pecs so your chest will fail before your shoulders. Make sure you loosen up your shoulders before any work out, windmills etc. Also I would keep your shoulder workout as far away as possible from you chest workout. Arranging what days you do what to allow for enough rest might help. Problem is you use your shoulders in just about every other body part routine.

Another thing to look at is how you bench. Do you flare the elbows?? I ask because ths is the most common cause of shoulder irritation when benching and it gives benching an undeserved bad rap. Try tucking the elbows into your lats if you don't already.
