Incline BLAH day - 12/13/03

actually, can i spank instead? all the boys can watch. :D

seriously, i agree with my LordSuston about performing so many high repetition sets. if you have a goal of increasing the weight/reps for low rep sets, you should train for that goal.

sounds like bfold is conjuring up some magic. let's see what he pulls out of his hat. :)

I think your sets are too high-- if you start at 75 for 7 & go up from there-- you could prob hit 90 easy...you wouldnt be so tired from the 32 reps you did on the lighter weight.

I like dips for warmups only-- then I go right into incline/flat press...I find its not as energy depleting as warmup sets on bench... good luck :)

I want you to think about what you are doing each week to increase your inclines. What exercise, besides inclines themselves, are you doing weekly (or several times a week) to increase it?

thanks guys. LordSus, you are definitely on target about too many sets before my heavy ones. I need to rethink my strategy (I know you also suggested this last week, and since i did not adhere, i think i need a spanking LOL j/k).

I won't go so far as a spanking :) , some other member can do. From my own experiences I use to try so god damn hard to up my poundages but then I realized I was doing way to many intermediate sets. example:

on Incline I was doing 135x12, 155x 12 then 175x12 then 185 x8 then 195x6 then 205x4-5 then 225 x1-2. when I cut down the sets to 135x6, 175x6, 205x6 and 225x6-7 it was much easier on my body. the accessory muscles are the ones that take the brunt earlt and give out, so why work them until you get to the poundages that will stimulate the most
