In case anyone missed it b4, how many of you believe upper pec work is very important

Lee said:
that shouldnt even be a question if your a bber. the upper peck makes or breaks the chest. without it it just looks like u have lopsided tits.

Actually yeah it does matter if you are a bb, because its the bodybuilders job to worry about what he looks like, a powerlifter on the other hand uses very little of his/her upper pec for max bench just by the unique form powerlifters use, they will almost never just lay flat on the bench they curl up and angle their chest up. When my trainer wrote me up a program for chest during my powerlifting, there was actually little upper chest exercizes. So my answer: Yes and No

I agree, they should be the focal point of your chest routine.

BIGCANNONS

I don't want to offend you by this, but you say you're natural at 5ft10 180lbs benching 390lbs?

Surely you must be joking.

Either you're on steroids or much heavier than you say you are.

The only ppl at my gym who do close to that weight or over 400lbs are on steroids, & they weigh minimum 230lbs at around 5ft10.

The heavies guy is a nationally ranked power lifter & he's 6ft4 290lbs who is on anabolics & maybe GH & he benches well over 400lbs for reps & squats about 815lbs & the other guy is about 5ft11 240lbs with about %12BF & has been on steroids for a long time.

No offense for real nor am I trying to cause trouble, but I just find this hard to believe.
i asure you i am not joking in the least while i was on cycle i weight 195-200 and did 415-450 this of course i a one rep max. no offense taken, but i have no reason fo exadurate, but i know its unusual but its cold truth.

All I can say is once you go on juice you're never natural again.

Unless you've been off juice for 3-5yrs or more.

B/c the hormones stay in your body even after the cycle is finished & you still make gains.

I also go with about a 30 degree angle, anything more is too much front delt. Incline dumbell presses and flyes are the reason why my chest has come out as balanced as it has

All a matter of opinion when you are 'natural' again, but no the horomones do not stay in your body unless you are talking about the extra weeks from esterfied compounds. Once the cycle and PCT (provided it is done correctly) is complete the compounds are gone. You may be thinking of how long they can test it for them which is a long time because the compounds leave byproducts of sorts that can be detected. If they remained in your system your nuts would never recover and virtually everyone on this board would be sterile! lol

I think what he means is that once you juice, you are never considered natural again, doesnt matter how long you've been clean

Oh I agree you are never 'natural' again there always will be that little astrix by your weigth. But no he says thats b/c the compounds stay in your system, that make you keep gaining.

I definately think they are key. I do 3 sets flat BB, 3 sets incline Dbs(or bar) at a 30 degree angle. Do 2 sets of incline flys, 2 sets decline HS, and finish off with 2-3 drop sets HS incline. Then some times I'll throw in a couple drop sets of X overs/pec deck.

That's it exactly.

& what I meant was most of my friends who've used or are regular users report permanent gains up to 3-4 months after a cycle is finished.

I did not mean that the hormones permanently stay in your system but they do for some time & still allow you to make gains while not even injecting.

I have a buddy of mine who's a personal trainer that I played football with for 2yrs in highschool as he's about 2yrs older than me.

When he was in the 9th grade he was already almost 230lbs at about 6ft4 a lot if it had to do with a very large bone structure & the fact he started weight training when he was just 13yrs old in 1989.

He played Middle linebacker since the 7th grade. He always wanted to play defensive tackle & he knew he wasn't going to be big enough b/c no matter how heavy he lifted or how much he ate he wasn't growing anymore.

So he started steroids at about 17yrs old & it's been 11yrs he's been on them & he grew to about 290lbs not ripped obviously but had a defensive tackle shaped body.

He had to go off steroids within the last 2yrs b/c he developed an odd irregular heartbeat & he was advised by his doctor to quit who had originally been monitoring him the last 11yrs.

Even though it's been over a year he's off juice & has shrunk down to a lean 265lbs with still very good power with a max bench of 415lbs, he says that he will never consider him self a natural training person with all the steroids he took.

That's it exactly you're never natural again even if you've quit. I'm not saying that ppl who take steroids are bad (but they put their health at risk as we don't know how each individual will react to a particular drug), but when someone who uses steroids says they are training naturally, it just makes me laugh LOL LMAO.

This one guy at my gym who competed locally in Montreal who trained under Roy Callender at my old gym has been juicing & now is about 6ft 240lbs pretty lean. Just the other day he said he was natural as I said that his chest routine was too much for a natural training person doing 18 sets.

His training partner whispered to me "that what he means is that he's taking a break from a cycle so he thinks he's training naturally"

LMAO :D

Sounds like a solid chest routine.

You do about 12 sets also I notice which is what I do as well.

But in regards to the steroid issue, I totally respect the steroid users at least the obvious steroid users whether they're 190lbs or 270lbs who come out & say they are using steroids.

Most of my friends say they're on roids. This one guy at my old gym about 5ft10 255lbs ripped with 21 inch arms always said he's on steroids & I respect that.

I don't respect the steroid liars. Whatever the reas they lie for, I don't respect that. But I've noticed that many lie b/c they want everyone to believe they are Super Man & making these incredible gains of strength naturally. & this is exactly what my friends who use told me.

Anyway I know I'll never be 240lbs ripped w/o steroids but that's okay I don't want to take them.
