I think I'd mix it up a bit.
I prefer to train at home, but one-two times a week I do venture over to my university's gym between classes due to time constraints. I usually find that when there, my concentration tends to drift a bit (thus my intensity sometimes, too) and I waste too much time waiting on equipment.
On the other hand, it can be motivational as well! But I can come up with the same motivation by myself at home just by watching progress and focusing on the activity at hand, so it's a toss-up.
