New member
this stuff has changed my training life

I posted here since its relavent to ASS use and Training

but I had a minor pec tear a bit back and started training hard again

but this stuff has Eliminated all pangs that are not really inujuries

thus allowing be to focus on the workout

I take 400 mgs with my Thermogenic about 30-45 min preworkout

its awsome

I detect no sides whatsoever and its not hiding any injury for the next day i feel fine with no need to medicate again

highly recomended by me

i thought taking ibprofen prevented maximum muslce growth, i thought i read that somewhere. that pain meds dont allow your body to build like normal

I read that too about anti-inflamatories.

The prevent the formation of prostaglandins which will halt the normal healing process that takes place when you lift. I don't use NSAID's for this reason.....I don't have any pain from lifting so there's no need in my case.

Ibprofen, along with others, has been specifically shown to reduce adaptive protein synthesis. The trade off in terms of incresed work ability versus reduced adaptation is positive or negative would make for interesting arguments.

Reduced adaptation is not worth the possible increased volume of work.....you'd be treading water, getting nowhere.....

A Silent Method chasing its tail.....

Depending on the length of the tail and the dexterity of the dog, some dogs easily catch their tail, while others never will.

Reduced adaptation with ibuprofen does not equal zero adaptation, just as the degree to which it elevates OMEGA's focus, regardless of the physiological limiting effect of the drug, does not necessarily equal optimal adaptation. As I said, the trade off in terms of increased work ability versus reduced adaptation could be positive or negative - or neutral.

My guess? Negative - I bet the use of the drug is detrimental in terms of muscle gains regardless of the increased focus on lifting. In fact, I'd bet money on it. Do you or I know for sure? No. It would make for an interesting investigation.

I was talking about your cat actually......

My intution is all I need for my justification that the adaptation reduction is not worth any possible increased workload. I don't need a study......it's just something I feel. NSAID's seem detrimental to the healing process and I can't justify using them.

not everyday

just 200-400 mgs before weight workout

200 mgs for someone under 200 would be enough

for 200 lb and over 400 mgs is more than enough

I am telling you its nothing but good

for me

that equals

5 times a week I consume 2 tabs

total Ibuprofen a week 10

What else can you take if your feeling like shit? So we've concluded Tylenol is ok what about advil or aleve? What other OTC stuff can you take? Thanks

advil = ibuprofen

trust me your all over stating any possible mal effect of Ibuprofen

its awsome stuff and has use in a Bodybuilders regemen

I know female track athletes at our University that consume 200 mgs ( a day ) all the time

i know tons of athletes using high dosages of ibuprofen daily at times and most of them have ridiculous physiques..

these are mainly wrestlers/boxers stuff like that but still they are able to recover and build muscle while taking between 1-2g's of this a day.. that high a dosage is not optimal and many use about 600-1.5g's but still gain

ive never read a study on serious athletes/bb'ers taking nsaids' id say if you feel like you need something to relax a bit or help with pain then go for it just dont start abusing it or turning to stronger substances like opiates/benzo's

good luck

Tylenol brutal on liver from what i've read and heard. I don't take anything unless I am absolutely suffering in pain. You can develop a high pain tolerance level over time.

Advil ruined Tom Prince's health and career big-time.

Any NSAID wreaks havoc on your system in the long-term. To recommend it is... wrong.

Not to mention all the injury potential from the lack of pain. Stupid.

you do have the concept of moderation do you not?

anything in high doses is obviously not very good

200-400 mgs NOT everyday is not a high dose

he said "Long term" which implies

usage in a regular fashion

since I am recommending it on Workout days, and we work out in a regular fashion

that is "long term"

also he says its "stupid"

which is simply not true, its an antiinflamitory wich also alleviates minor pangs

(note minor pangs)

its not Vicodin or Nubain

Perhaps his wording was strong. I interpreted it as don't do so much pain killer that you can't feel what your body is telling you. I aslo thought he wa s against using it on a regular basis for a long time. There is no doubt along with aas will hurt liver.

inflammation can become excessive and in that case counter-productive, this occurs more often with advancing age, poor nutrition, or acute injuries. best to not let the situation go unchecked

i see nothing wrong with Omega'a approach

i take 500mg naproxen every workout, which is 3-5 times a week....if I dont I can "blow" out my neck/traps................without fail it happens........I have bad tension headaches/migranes and very tight traps and shit..............I have tried everything to "destress" the problem areas and have to some degree but training extremely heavy can fuck me up fast.
