I guess I'm no longer a parent

Do you know how much like Curling you sound right now

Are you calling all Christians ignorant? Son, many of them are superior in intelligence to you.

God doesn't seem to be filling that void that you've said your daughters absence has left. Not putting your beliefs down, but I think you have gone to an extreme in this religion thing. You are going to slowly become the same alienated, angry person that you were trying to run away from when you turned to God.
let me fix this last sentence

No, but Curling is a blind Christian and you sound very much like him right now

I am far from blind.

anyways, this has turned away from your family issues and into a religious argument so I'm out. Good luck bud.

I hate to say it, B, but it only gets worse as they get older..... :(

We hardly see J anymore & she's 18!! The times she comes over to spend with us is minimal at best & when she is here, she's always on the computer or text messaging or planning to go out -- so she's not really "here" anyway.

The only time it starts to get better is when the kids are finally out on their own and have to deal with responsibilities. Then they'll start to realize little by little the big picture.

Yes, I will. Because God comes first, family comes second. There is no negotiating.

You shouldn't have to choose. Alienating your daughter is not in God's best interest.

You have rules in your household that align with God's word. You do not compromise on these rules. That is a command. If a child wants to have sex in your house, do you let them so that you will not alienate them? I think not. I used an extreme example here, but some parents allow it so it's not so extreme. Of course, they are agnostic or athiest, which I am not. The child will return to me in time. I am confident. She will respect my life because it is good.
