MAn, that is got to be one of the scariest deaths there is. How would she have died if she wasn't able to karate through the wood. Would she have sufucated? IF yes, how long would it take? If oxegen could through to the coffin would she have thirst to death? If yes, how long would have that have taken?

she probably woulda gone crazy and done the karate chop to her throat cause its claustrophobic down thurr

I know. If I would have been her I was sliced my wrist with the shaving blade. But say she stayed tied up how would she have died?

If I remember right you have got a couple of minutes per cubic feet of air in a confined space before you get carbondioxide overload. So a coffin 6x3x2 would be 36sqft. which would leave about an hour before there wasn't enough oxygen left and you started to go into carbon dioxide asphyxia. That would last for maybe another 15 to 20min before you lost conciousness and slowly your brain would cease to function in a reverse cognizance mode. So say two hours and you are dead after an hour and a half you would have severe longterm brain damage. As for thirst depending on ambient conditions the average person can live between two and five days without food and water. In sever climates (desert, arctic) your survivability drops considerably.

probably would have died of fright or a heart attach.... people have been buried alive especially in the late 1900s .....Edgar Poe was so afraid of that that he had a bell attached to the coffin by a rope in case he woke up...i think they were also adding metal straws for breathing too...

you could also die of blood loss if you tried to scratch your way out....

too fucked up......im gonna quit now.

Boy I bet it was hard to say "cheers" after that post. And thanks for answering it. So the dirt on top of the wood would not allow oxegen to get into the coffin.

If the dirt is deep enough yes it will stop airflow. Part of the reason that you get buries ~6ft down is to keep the smell from coming up through the ground. And no it isn't too hard to say cheers after that as I am a somewhat morbid person anyway.

The coffin would probably be crushed under the weight of the dirt, but if it did stay together she would die in a matter of minutes from lack of air.
