agreed also... i was doing my swuats wide stance and going about an inch above parrellel, i was putting up 5 plates for 5 reps at that time...
i just started doing full squats witha closer stance, rite now im in the 135 range, because im so week from the lowest piont(ass to floor) to parellel, ware i used to start, so at this piont i dont trust ne squat numbers.

see it to believe it...

Best I got was 405 for 1 after my 4 working sets of squats. So I'm not sure what I could do for a 1rm?

nobody is ever going to see this buried so far back but I'll still chime in. I did a 405 at the USAPL power meet a couple of weeks ago but I moved my foot before the judge said "rack". So I lost it. I have done 405 ass to heel and put myself under 455 for some almost parralell squats, I call them hacks! I am triny like hell to get the weight up as my bench is above average in my class I never practiced deads before the meet, got 400, so for now until the next state meet in April I will train my ass off!

Got to 315x20 within six months of squating. My legs are just naturally very strong.

i'd bet money that you're another half-ass squatter who doesn't even get to parallel

Wrong asswipe... tops of the thighs parallel to the floor for 20 reps. Ass to back of my shoes for 5 reps. And I do not believe in using a belt for squatting. What is your problem anyways, forget your prozac this morning?

I can do 225x10 for squats. I weigh 180 and am 6' tall.

4 months ago when I began doing squats I could only rep 115x12, so I'm pretty happy with my improvement. I usually gain 1 rep a week in squats. When I started 4 months ago, my balance was bad, but now squats are a lot easier.

These threads crack me up, well I did 605@198 in hs, then went in the army and lost it all,......and then found it again. 875@275 and have gotten stronger since.

i too have to admit some of these numbers sound very fishy to me. i also think it's quite remarkable how many replies these kind of threads get. i guess were all in this game for our ego's right? at least partly that is.

i was thinking the same. i'm not calling anyone a liar but if all of these numbers are for real then damn, i feel bad now.

Just name names if your calling a lift bs, and I did win that meet. 2002 IPA Nats.

Yes it is, with the Titan Boss suit and frantz dble poly briefs underneath.

I beleive that was my second or third attempt so either 825 or 875. First attempt was 750.

ass to the floor , no no no squat-440x5@185 bodyweight.

I way. . . hundred and thurty ponds and kan skwat aboot:

715 ponds four a max, butt four sum reesun, i kan ownly git 315lbs for 7 repps.

Remember this is elite fitness where people have 20 inch arms, weigh 165lbs, but somehow they can squat 555lbs.

I would love to see some videos of these impressive lifts!!

Its funny, but I haven't seen one video from anyone here.

If these people can squat this much at a low bodyweight, can you imagine what they can perform on good mornings or the deadlift??

How about this? I just started squats about 4 or 5 weeks ago with 95 pounds. Last time I did 135 for 5x5. All to parallel, wide stance cause I'm 6'3". I'm afraid to do too much weight until I get the form down right cause I have a bad back.

My hams are pretty inflexible and weaker than my quads, but I think my form is getting better as they get stronger. Hopefully my squats will catch up to my bench before too long. :)

why do these threads keep starting?

I squat the bar with some weight on the end, and maybe some bands if I am feeling saucy

Most I've done so far was 240x20 when I did a 20 rep cycle in december/january. I really need to kick shit back into gear after i'm through with dieting!

I was sitting in Logan's Roadhouse last night after consuming 4 rolls, a salad, nachos, loaded mashed potato's and a rare porterhouse and I was almost able to do a single rep box squat out of my chair!!!! Thanks to the help of my wife I did manage a single forced rep! Ahh.........Maybe next time!

uh..........i've just recently worked up to a 5x5 of 200 lbs...i started at 135.............i have no clue what my max is but i dont see the 5x5 squat stalling anytime soon.

oh yea........i didnt start squatting untill 5 months ago.......AND I WANT TO KICK MY OWN ASS BECAUSE OF IT!!

my best was a set of 6 to about paralell, maybe a tad deeper, at 420lbs. 5'9 in height, about 195lbs at that time (fatter than now though) and im natty

legs are my best bodypart for strength. i demolish most of the roiders in my gym

"roiders"....hey, I represent...I mean resent that....

I'm with blaster, neglected my legs for a long time. The best ass to the grass squat I've done was 350. I think that was at 220/6' too.

Just did a belt only 303x2 yesterday pretty much ATF. I'm 5'8 1/2" and have fairly stocky legs and below parallel for me pretty much means ATF, or hams to calves. I just switched over from stopping at parallel.

Just started squating 3 months ago - now one of my favorites...can't ever see not doing it. My 5 rep max is 285...never tried any heavier - and I go all the way down.

Hopefully I'll hit 300 by the end of my next HST cycle...I want 350 by the end of the year.

How much do you Squat? If reps, please specify.
660 lbs at 242lbs bw.At that is below parallel, but I always wrap knees after 405lbs and I always use an inzer squat suit when I go heavy. My best at 165lbs bw in a competition was 551lbs but that was 10 years ago. I'm having a problem getting the bar down far enough on my back because of shoulder problems.

Ok 1,200 hahahah

Mike,
you got any new vids to post of you squatting? i remember a while back you posted some vids of you squatting 1175 over on the PL forum. unbelievable. you are the man. keep up the pushing that number higher and higher.

I never have been a consistant weight lifter for any considerable amount of time and legs least of all but at my best I was using 405lbs. for sets. I'll probably never go over 315lbs. anymore just for safety. I still grow like crazy so weight isn't everything... Glad to see some people actually take pride in leg training. That's a rare quality...

Thank you for the compliment!

i usually will do 4 sets of 10 with my first three of 385, but then go up to 405 for 10. i could do more but i am doing it safely. i have been working with a personal trainer for football these last three weeks and he wanted me to go parallel. i had to drop much weight. I was going down pretty far anyway. The heighth of a flat bench. i use right now anywhere from 185 to 225 for 3 x 8. Its not heavy by any means but i have to get use to it of course.

Does anyone know how I can post a video or what I need to do so..

So am I reading it right, you went from 405x10 to 225x8 when you started squatting parallel? Not trying to slam you at all, just goes to show a squat is not a squat unless its deep. I see SO many guys at the gym doing these half and quarter squats with big weight. if their knees accidentally bent an inch farther they'd be buried. Good luck Warrior with getting your now parallel squats back up to the 4 wheels for 10 rep range

Ya, real parallel let alone a full squat humbles all, but the real squatters at most gyms.

There are plenty of guy's at my gym that would claim 225 for reps or even 315 for reps only to find out like I guessed, they were doing quarter or half squats lmao.

I can almost always tell if a guy can actually squat what he says he does by his overall build and leg size.

There's a guy at my gym that is hella yoked(obviously on roids) that does quarter squats with 500lbs. It's a joke and all the powerlifter's laugh to themselves when they see him squat because he looks like an idiot. I mean, I could probably get 500lbs up and do quarter squats with it lol.

there were a few at my gym, both about 6' tall, and 170lbs if they were lucky, that would squat 405lbs for reps. They would step out of the rack and be shaking so bad the other one would have to hold onto his waist to keep him steady, then proceed to do 1/4 squats, if that. Then they would swagger past me all bad ass as they were squatting around the same as me

Man, that's FUNNY!!!! :FRlol: :FRlol: :FRlol:

Started at 4 sets of 185 8 reps...three weeks later (now)-- I do 4 sets 235 8 reps..

I go parallel, my first rep is always a little safer (I don't usually have a spot) and then I will do parallel, then for about two reps i will go lower, just a tad, then back to parallel to finish it off..I LOVE SQUATS

It was annoying putting on five plates for leg press (I am not bragging).

I have a Q..if I can do what i said above, but May (middle of) could I be repping 275 4 sets of 8?

I weigh 160 and am about 5'10''

Thanks.
