Nurses dont go to medical school. They go to - (drum roll...) nursing school!winny fan said:back doc, just go back to my post and read it over, read it over a couple times cause you dont seem to understand it. how many nurses do you know that have passed medical school and decided not be a doctor? that is fuckin stupidity if there is such a person. and thus that would apply to number one on my post, although they may have passed the test, they are just STUPID then.
if it wasnt so funny, about men being nurses, than 'meet the parents' wouldnt have been as funny as it was.
Nurses in the US MAKE MORE than in Canada loser. Why do so many canadian nurses have US work visas? Because Canadian nurses dont make shit.winny fan said:
big difference between a guy pharmacist and a guy nurse. one is respected and makes decent coin, the other is laughed at because he has a girls job and he makes peanuts compared to a real doctor while probably putting in more hours.

Hey, Nice to hear from you. WinnyFan is living in his little delusion where we dont get any respect as men who are in the nursing field. I work (primarily) a specialty surgical unit where complications/problems at night are a regular occourence. One of the surgeons has complemented me by saying that he said he sleeps soundly when he knows that I am on and taking care of his patients because I know exactly what to expect/look for. I guess he also does't realize that when a surgeon says, "I trust your judgement" and comes in at 3 am, no questions asked to see a patient that you feel has internal bleeding with worsening vital signs and no urine output (shock) FROM WHAT YOU SEE and tell him. That's RESPECT. Something winnie loser knows nothing about.Pandoras Aggression said:I'm a Registered Nurse at a large teaching hospital. Last year I made 50,000. and I only work 3 days a week. I just took another job (PRN---I can work when I want to).....that will give me an extra 1200.00 a month if I just work one more day a week. So I will end up working 4 days instead of 3. And if I don't want to work at this new job for 2 months.....don't have to. For some this may not be alot of money.....but my daughter and I get by just fine on it.
I was seriously considering Nurse Practioner School last year-----they make 60,000.00 a year in my area, alot more shit to do, on call, and at the hospital all the time. I practically make that now so why add all the hassle to my life.
I work on a unit with intern's and residents. Half the time the nurses are "teaching" them what is going on with the patients. I have actually been asked by an intern what tylenol is used for.
I have been in codes where the nurses tell the doctors what drugs to give. This is not all of the time or even occasional. But it has happened.
My unit has alot of standing orders since I work in a critical area, so I end up calling the shots on quiet a few things.....and telling the doctor about them later.
I work beside some of the best male nurses in the country. Not one is gay, but it wouldn't matter if they were. Most are womanizer's , if anything. They are all big guys.......so they don't think twice about helping me with a heavy patient. They don't bitch and bicker like the females and rarely call in. I had rather work with male nurses.
Nurses are the one's who take care of families and friends ( and it's not because I am one, but because I know). Not the Doctors. I can't believe some of the comments made toward Your Moms Kneepads and nursing in general.
I suppose the people who made the negative comments........will never need a nurse's help.
