I really want to know what it takes to compete. It's a lifetime goal of mine, and at 30 I am wondering if it's too late. Especially, given my current size and strength (6'2, 170 and 10%).....I am now finally on HRT at approx. 250mg so that should be a big piece. Would LOVE to hear from those who have done it and do it and if I'm on the right track for maybe two years.

I need to get to 230 and stay under 12%, that way I can cut to 205 or so.

I have increased my cals to 4K, all clean Monday through Friday and then whatever isnt nailed down on the weekends.

My cardio is limited to just 1 session a week for 30 minutes (is this ok, do I need more???)

I train as heavy and as intense as possible 5 days a week. I will NEVER miss a session unless dealthy ill.

I get a good 8 hours of sleep a day, usually more, but I usually wake up at midnight starving, so I grab some veggies and some protein.

I don't drink, period.

I smoke maybe a bowl at night 5x a week (never more never any other other time) after training to help me consume more cals (else I'd be too sick to eat, due to training)

My stress level is mild, work relaed only but I leave it at the office (I sit all day and rest)

I use NO OTHER rec drugs. I was using ONE vicodine tab a day for a good year, so I was addicted, but I havent touched one in many many months.

I have tried coke and nubain 1 time. Nothing else.

I will prob. consume an average of a glass or wo of wine NOW, at night as I have heard good things.
No other booze and I havent sarted this yet.

I will be on gear for a long time (maybe ry to come off hr in he future) but this will help me eat more.

I plan to jump start on a cycle now since I have the resources and maybe 2-3 a year always going back o hrt dose.
Tbal at 40mg
eq at 400mg
test at 600mg
npp at 400mg all for 16 weeks starting monday and tbol for first four.

I would like to stay under 12%, and will do so. Keeping abs, what does it take? Also have some tren, prop maseton blend to use down the line to cut hard to 6% and then increase cardio decrease cals.

Diet is 50,30, 20 split, c/p/f.........am I missing anything, right mentality??

so true man...so true
especially old people. Old men aand women are always telling me how thier 13 and 14 year old grandsons are 3 times my size and the men tell me how i get to look forwar d to looking like a piece of shit when Im 60 because they looked 10X better than me back in WW2...sheesh...I just want to get them all T-shirts that say "The older I get the greater I was"

That's all true but the bad is we will all be there one day, age wise anyway who know's what attitude well have getting old sucks you hope to live that long with no real health issues and still pounding heavy weight, i turn 50 in 3 days i'm 5'10 210 been bulking so bf is around 15% and i'm happy, cause when a lot of 50 year olds tell me what i'm gonna look like at 50 they freak when i tell them already there!
Dad's 76 and still push mow's an acre of yard with a bad knee! It's genetic's and they can say it's steroids but it's f-in hard ass work. You either love it or you don't, all the old negative people need hormone replacement therapy!

oh i forgot no i don't compete i would like to because of my age i think i would do ok. I still throw my leg over a bike and hang with my boyz on the motocross track.

My dad was a bodybuilder and powerlifter...and started because it felt right, I also wanted to start powerlifting in college but only did one meet, i did well but didnt want to do it any longer. Now i think i might try out for a bodybuilding contest but when i lean out unfortunately i really loose a lot of muscle.
I also like the attention, I always get people coming up to me and saying something about my size

I know this might sound strange, but some people have a problem when they cut out too much of certain macronutrients for dieting- for some it's fat and others it's carbs. One friend of mine was full and very thick all the time- big round muscle bellies and then he dieted down for a contest and went from 210 or so (at 5'6") and lean to 156 and scrawny. I believe it was something about the way his body used carbs and that he would have a lot more success either cycling carbs or trying a lower fat diet with higher carbs. I saw pictures from a later contest that he did and he looked amazing, full and cut so he must have figured something out. Good luck if you decide to do a contest!

The most important thing, bro, is ganas...DESIRE. If you are waiting to get "big" enough, it will never happen. You must simply pick a date 6-9 months in the future, nut-up, announce your intent, and push "all in". (It is important to announce bc it makes it much, much harder to pull out once everyone in your gym knows). Like the NIKE ads say, just do it. My first contest was over 25 years ago and I weighed like 150 lbs at 5'3". I dieted hard and looked much, much better than I thought I would. Although I did not win, it gave me experience, respect, and most-importantly, CONFIDENCE. It takes a big BIG PAIR to be up on stage!
