I think one of the problems that makes people turn to divorce is that they plan it beforehand. People start thinking of it as only a legal action (kinda like you pointed out), and can get out of it whenever they wish.

Now this is fine if that's what you are looking for. This is fine if that's how you and your spouce define a marriage.

BUT, when I get married, it isn't going to be another form of dating. It's going to be forever. Like the way I was brought up. Like the way my parents are. Like the way MOST other Armenians are ...

I'm not trying to change anything, nor do I care enough to do so.

Just letting you know, you are fooling yourself if you believe there is trust and love in a relationship where you will ask for a prenuptual agreement.

I agree that most people are to quick to run and get a divorce.

Not to long ago, people would seek counseling and/or intervention from the church to try and salvage their marriage.

Nothing is ideal, but when I get married I will be ready to fully give myself to that person. This will include give myself financially, meaning all my money and income. I'd expect the same commitement from her, and if I thought I wouldn't get this than there would be no marriage.

Just my thoughts on how I would do things, you can do as you wish. This, much like everything else, is a play on defenitions.
