It's about 800 total. There are a few curves in the walls, so I couldn't go to the edges in every direction.

I like having a gym at home, but I also prefer to work around noon which is when my 2 year old naps. So more often than not, I drive to a gym about 12 minutes away.

Plunkey that's an awesome set up for a home gym, I have one but it's so damn jam packed full of shit that you can hardly move. I'm thinking of shit canning the tread mill, bike, and the tanning bed to get more room.

That home gym is nicer than the old-ass 24 hour fitness I go too. I've been going to the same location for 16 years and they've never once upgraded anything.

What I did, was put those jigsaw piece interlocking black rubber 2-foot by 2-foot tiles, and it's held up great for 3 years and counting! They do have nicks in them from dropping dumbells, but it's a weight room anyway. They look like real gym mats, but not near the cost. I got them at Costco (8 of them for about $20), but OSH also carries them, and Lowe's has them but they're all weird colors (no black). Here's the Costco link, but the ones they show here are different pattern from mine (mine are diamond plate style).

I used the Garage Duty series of interlocking tiles from AmorTile. $2.89 sq/ft. Very easy to install. You can buy it right off their site and it's a simple DIY job. I love the no-skid textured surface. It's awesome for lunges, deads, etc.
