Here's what I think about Elitefitness (and it's downfall)

Most of this seems like a non issue now.
The board is quiet. People are moving on.
New people will trickle in now.

I’ve been a member here for over 3 yrs now, and despite the other fitness sites I visit I still call this place my home base. But as of recent I’ve watched the steady decline of this site, and as much as it pains me to say it… if things don’t start to turn around soon, I will be finding a new site to call home. This post may offend some people, it may even get deleted for all I know. But this is me telling it like it is, and somebody needs to say it.

Criticism is fine, and should usually be welcomed, but in my opinion, criticism ought to always be followed by suggestions to remedy the situation which was criticised.

Truth of the matter is (imo) that C&C should be elimated, karma gambling abolished, karma reset.

Karma should be about who gives great advice on training/aas/dieting/etc. This is a decent way for new people to get an idea of who has been around and knows their stuff.

I think this is a very good idea. I like the idea better of getting rid of bombs all together. I also think that buying karma for yourself to boost your rep should be done away with. Karma shows (or should show) the legitimacy of the member posting.
HI--i am the new guy here so i don't care about karma and shit yet---
but i will say if that is the short one in her avitar she has a lovely behind

Yep, like that... I was also slightly shocked, having gone Platinum and buying every book sold on here at my first log-in and (attempted) search, at the level of non-participation from some very knowledgeable people that I recognize from way back. Shortly there-after discovered why... It seems the most logical remedy would be to just separate the whole thing into two catagories. One karma system (the existing one) for the non-BB forums, and a totally different one for the relative/ pertinent boards. The downside would be the knowledge folks having to start over, tho that could possibly be remedied by introducing the new system with tenure points for the existing bad boys. Or, and it'd take a little work (OK, a lot), ya'll could also just write a program to back track which threads were posted to and do the whole separation thing automatically. That way everyone would know who was posting relavent info where, and who was just adding to the entertaining-but-sidetracked stuff. Not sure if any of this would work, or if people really care, but if something like this did occur and was posted all over the other boards, it shouldn't take too long to put this place back where it (apparently) was before, and get people reposting to the stuff that really matters (for those of us that paid the money just for the info, not the "how to bang a fat..." kinda threads, as can be crearly attested to by viewing the number and dates of replies to BB posts, and the same for the others). And now, having spewed my views openly, I'll apologize profusely and beg for forgiveness for being "just another loudmouth" newbie. Good luck guys. BTW, this truely is a GREAT site, and if you dig deep enough, most all the info is still in here, somewhere, as there truely are some seriously knowledgeable people lurking amidst the playa's.

For those of you who know me, you already know I dont waste my time in board politics and things of that nature. I stay true to my love of bodybuilding and fitness and let other people worry about everything else. But after the things that have been brought to light over the last few months (especially the last day or so) I feel it's time for me to speak up.

Honestly, I think this board has started to turn towards the C&C crowd (and even turn into a C&C board). I think people would agree with me when I say that the anabolic, diet, and training forums have become 2nd tier to everything else on this site. This site is now all about karma, and bombs, and locked threads, and everything else comes afterwards.

We can start with this whole karma situation. People abused the hell outta that system and made it into what it has become today. I don’t really care about karma. I do think it’s a good idea to recognize people who give good information on post, and in that aspect I think karma is good. However, karma doesn’t mean anything anymore because people buy it, bet it, trade it, give it to their friends for no reason, etc. So there’s no way to tell who is experienced in diet, training, etc. without looking at their post history (which I believe non plats cannot do). I think there needs to be some way to recognize the experienced bros on here, and I don’t think karma is the answer anymore.

Next I have to speak on this COB membership thing. This is another aspect of the board that recently came about that I also feel only benefits the people in places like C&C. Think about it, I don’t really involve myself in the politics and drama on this site. I come here to talk about gear, diet, and training. I try to give advice where I can, and hopefully gain a little more wisdom and knowledge along with everyone else here. What do people like me have to gain by becoming COB??? The answer is nothing, except for a $1000 hole in my bank account.

1) I dont care about being able to drop a superpower bomb, and all that other nonsense. I can probably count the number of times on 1 hand that I've had to bomb somebody since I've been plat. All of these little features that benefit the peeps in C&C and the other forums that have nothing to do with training, I could give a rats ass about.

2) It’s certainly not the recognition… I got the same generic letter that all the other 50 something some odd people got, with my name cut and pasted at the top. If you want to recognize me for the way I’ve helped out on the anabolic and training forums on this site, then send me a REAL letter for a REAL selected group of members (something that cannot be bought) and then explain why you picked me over the other members to be a part of it. I may have to offend somebody, but that COB invite we got was almost insulting.

I’ve been a member here for over 3 yrs now, and despite the other fitness sites I visit I still call this place my home base. I am a new member to this site. I am a 34 and much of a weight training enthuist. I dont know wha some of these slangs are,cc karma points. My goal is to ask intellegent questions about training diet and hrt(hormone replacement therapy)which i have been on for a year. I would appreciate any advice of the current members how i would be able to communicate this.
