Will have my first competition (b/p) 1 week from sunday
I follow mostly a WSB method but as of last 3 workouts have been hybridizing with MM.. ( I am crash coursing in shirt work..see below)
I have 2 workouts left until D-day.. I have a single layer Karen denim that I have used for Board Presses for a while (3-4 weeks)and have been working the boards down (4,3,2,1,) (this isnt all of the workout.. but for this questions purpose this is all that matters) on my most recent workout was the 1st time I ever took the weight all the way down in the Karens ( 315 1st 325 2nd ..both good lifts..after a slight workout so I prob have a little more in me when fresh).........Question is should I continue to do full press shirt work for the next 2 workouts?/ I definintely need the practice but dont want it to come at the expense of sacrificing my speed ( D/E band work) or my lockout (heavy rack lockouts)
Will I be able to maintain/gain strength when "practicing the shirt" for the meet and by not doing any band work or heavy lockots.. I guess I could do some lockouts after the workout but will I lose explosiveness off the chest if I strictly train with full reps/shirt for the next 2 workouts..
