Some idiot pulled out in front of me couple weeks ago and smacked the left front end of my 98 Mustang. I got the body work repaired near perfect but they cannot seem to get the steering right. I was told that once this kind of car gets smacked in the front end, the steering is NEVER right again. Meaning the sloppiness in the wheel is there permanently. Has anyone else had this experience (unfortunately) and were you able to get the steering tightened up and responsive again? I am hoping the front end shop that had been working on it was just doing a s***** job (2 alignments and still not right) and that since I took the car to the shop that does my tires, front end work, rear end work, etc. can get it back right. If not, someone will pay dearly for my inconvenience and loss, as my car is in showroom condition. Umm, WAS in showroom condition.

take it somewhere that is better known for work on sports cars or doing performance mods
chances are a place like that has the equipment to fix whatever is not quite right

It sounds like a problem with the Flux Capacitor.

It's actually the Johnson Valve.

Someone should be able to fix it; it probably isn't just the alignment.

Hey all, new here....as for your steering problem, if it's in the chassis/suspension, hate to say it, but it may take a while for the techs to get it right....sometimes it's just hard to find the real trouble area, or they just went by the hours in the labor book to make profit, and rushed it. If it's that bad, I'd try to bring it back again, or find another place to at least look at it. Having worked on cars for many years, there's not an easy answer to every problem....just like bodybuilding, right?

It's all about the alignment. There is always a way to fix something.... the place your car is at are just really dumb.

Thanks for the replies. I was told that the rack and pinion steering was replaced and the left control arm. Then car was brought back to same shop for alignment. It is still the same. However I have brought my car to the shop that does my tires, alignments, hi-speed balances, rear-end work and I have faith that they will get it right. They have been really good to me in the past and are familiar with my car. So we shall see.

Yes and my FORD has not given me a lick of problems until a stinking Chevy decided to hit it! Just found out that I was correct in MY intial feeling that there was frame damage. A cross member is bent which is why it cannot be aligned correctly in the first place. So, my car is on its way to another facility that specializes in frame repairs and alignment. They got a good reputation and good review from BBB. Again we shall see.
