Nah, come on now, this is unreasonable. Punishment must fit the crime, not your idea of revenge. This would not be a good precedent; it is akin to blowing your car up when you get a speeding ticket.

If your thoughts are torture, then you're just like this guy.

I don't feel it's unreasonable at all.....not at all....

A SPEEDING ticket is NOT EVEN comparable to what this guy did.....not even close...... Now if he locked his neighbor's child in his closet with no food, etc cuz the kid was noisy, now THAT'S comparable.....speeding is NOT EVEN REMOTELY CLOSE TO BEATING A DOG CLOSE TO DEATH....C'MOn........

Your scenario is not justice, it's revenge. Justice is when the punishment fits the crime, like what I described. Revenge is when people get emotional over something.

Blowing up a car for speeding is revenge. Your ideas are revenge on the dog guy are revenge. Revenge is making a victim (or offended party) feel better.

There is no logical basis for that, and it is completely arbitrary, rendering it entirely inappropriate for adminstration of a justice system based in protecting people's rights. Feeling better is not among those rights.

Your suggestions place you in the same category as the guy who did this. Your response indicates you are not thinking logically or in the interests of justice, merely wanting to feel better about something that bothers you.

No, I understood your point, however I don't feel that speeding & animal cruelty are comparable in nature as crimes. I feel that there is more comparison in his kidnapping a child from next door & torturing the child......I don't feel it's revenge myself....torture of an innocent (child or animal) begets torture.....and you get what you get or what you bargained for....

I was trying to illustrate the disparate nature of crime and punishment in your example with another equally illogical statement. From a thought-process standpoint, it doesn't matter if they are comparable as crimes or not, but for what it is worth, blowing up a car and torture are extremely dissimilar too.

Actually I do vote....every election....and I'm a registered Republican too, who usually never votes Republican....

Sorry, but I have a ZERO tolerance policy for animal cruelty.... and I don't have a problem with the punishment being worse than the crime...you don't like it, then don't commit the crime... too bad.....

I've always thought that rather than destroying vicious dogs, some of them should be saved for use in punishing animal abusers. Put, say, 5 of them in a 40-yard square pen. Animal abuser enters by a door at one end, and takes whatever punishment the dogs can inflict on him til' he or she makes it to the other door, where handlers end the attacks and paramedics administer first aid. Be sure to have this footage taped and readily available to the public, so that anyone even thinking about beating on an animal will think twice.
