I try not to but it depends I can handle taking 2-3 days off the gym but after that I start feeling like a lazy ass and try to train through it.

Pointless to train when sick, youre not strong enough to sufficiently stimulate the muscles.
Cardio maybe

I dunno about that I mean it's not a great workout but you can feel it. I barely have stamina for the lifting cardio almost kills me when I am sick.

ill train even when sick, it gets on my nerves when i know its my training day and im sick i just have to work out atleast put 75% effort into it

Just wait until the next day jesus why make it so hard and a waste

For me I don't like laying around all day long feeling sick. I always think if I do something I will feel better but now I just feel more tired.

I guess no ones ever heard that you can make yourself sicker if you train while sick. Any Dr. would say to rest while sick but what do they know lol

Depends on what it is...if it includes a severe headache, no...if it is something that I know will subside in a matter of time of course hit the gym and work it out of my system.

well...if i was like hurling or something? no...i woodn't work out. but just like a st00pid fucking cold? hell yeah i wood/have!

Yes I do. I look at it two ways. It helps my get better faster and I dont want to pass my illness on to others in the gym that is totally unfair and also I look at it as a couple days of extra healing from the beating I give myself all the time in the gym.

I don't get the sniffles and skip but if I am sick like puking sick I am staying at the house.

This. Please don't go to the gym when you're sick! It's terribly rude and inconsiderate. Some people have family members with serious illnesses and small children where what you think isn't a big deal is life or death to someone.

Lol, maybe I do have OCD

i agree cindy

just like when stupid christians go to church sick cause they feel they should never miss, and spread that shit to everyone else. pisses me off

I'll do a double split with forced reps and heavy negatives when sick. Fuck you immune system!

I will have to dig up, working out while sick articles, if I can find them. There was a few studies that said, if you have a light cold then working out, can actually speed up the recovery time. If you have a severe cold or flu, the kind that every part of your body hurts, then DO NOT workout. If its just a light head cold, or on that lines, and you are still able to eat some food, you should be able to workout, of course you will have to back it down a bit. but it might help.

I remember once I had the best workout of my life, every lift right at the max of what I could do if it was my first lift of the day, but they were all like that the whole workout.

Then I woke up that night puking my guts out with an awful stomach flu. All that work for nothing. Weird how my body had so much stamina right as I was getting sick.

No. If I've been handling my business up to that point missing a day or two won't kill me.

hubs is out goin on day two of work and the gym...something seriously wrong with his left hip..he actually puked from the pain trying to walk
if hes more mobile tomorrow we discussed gettin him in the gym just to do some seated upper body stuff

I've seen at least one study (not going to bother looking for it) that said exercise can stimulate the immune system in the very beginning (like first day) of a cold, and at the end of the period of sickness. So when you're just starting to feel the symptoms, and when you're starting to feel better again.

otherwise, you're only hampering an already overworked immune system. :)
