Do you train to failure on every set or just the last set of an exercise?

Very good point.

There are so many variables. "Failure" is an inderterminante phrase. Pushing until you can no longer complete a rep isn't more "failure" than resting a second and doing another -- or doing partials -- or more reps with a lighter weight.

If there were a "science" to reps we'd all know it by now.

Strength training is something altogether different. You can get stronger and not more muscular.

Plus -- everyone reacts differently to different stimulus. Even cliches' like "compound movements build mass" aren't entirely accuarate.

Didn't mean to get off topic. It's just one of those things that can be analyzed to death yet never really explained.

Its clear that bodybuilders are not about getting stronger or doing proper exercises,

Where did you get this BS from??? You watch one video and think that's how Ron works out??? And you think that's how every BBer works out?? How sad.

Ive watched all of Rons workouts and ive seen jay Cutler and a few more top guys workout. Its quite obvious that there aim is a pump. And Those guys are the reason why you see retards at the gym with their half reps and pump sets and they dont get any stronger. The only reason why those guys are so massive is basause of Gentics + Diet + Steroids. It has nothing to do with them working out properly. ALL PUMP

The results and method used to get there depend on the person and the goals. That is why you see "smaller" olympic lifters lift a ton and some "huge" BBs not able to, vice-versa, and a cross section of everything in-between.

I only traini to Failure on ONE "bread and butter" exercise
per body part.

things like BB curls

Incline Presses for chest

Legs presses

Tricep presses etc

Rows for back

the other exercises I go to fatigue but not necessarily all out failure till broke

I never train to failure on anything. to me failure is stupid and a good way to hurt yourself. I always KNOW I have 2-3 left in me when I stop a set

and I think in the Pro training videos alot of thier crazy shit is an act they do for fans. Ive never seen pros throwing bars across the gym and shit like that

I am a 100% with that I very rarely train to failure cause it greatly increases my risk of injury I have enough as is I don't need to weaken the muscles holding my joints to a point where when I put up big weight they get injured.
