...and how about the research scientists for SETI? They are looking for something that most people automatically discount. I don't know if they will ever find anything, but they certainly aren't laughing about the possibility and discounting the intelligence of those who may believe in something beyond what has been already proven.

Most people discount extraterrestrial life? I figured most people believed in it one way or another, depending on if there exists a popular television show like the X-Files showing at the time. Television greatly influences the masses through fictional shows like Star Trek, X-Files and CSI, for better or for worse.

maybe I don't have my finger on the pulse of popular opinion, but I think most would say that such things do not exist.

people with 115 IQ's do not become physicist. furthermore they do not look at math as a "hobby". i am not refering to interweb test i am talking about the wechsler. internet intelligence inventories are a joke. shit puddlemonkey probably could test out normal on an internet IQ test. lol. you are underestimating yourself. btw you are a great guy, but its not your IQ that makes you great. intelligence is an inherited trait. complimenting someone on IQ is like complimenting someone for being tall.

IQ range for lawyers seems to run a pretty wide swath. I have met some who make me wonder how they passed the bar. Others are brilliant. Ironically, the richest lawyer I know is also the dumbest...

if their is extraterrestrial life and it is intelligent we dont want to meet up with it. our physic dictate a speed limit for the universe of 186000 miles per second. (at least for intrinsic matter) and these fuckers are capable of star travel (vaaaast distances)? fuck me runnin backwards. the last thing you wanna see is a UFO!!! we would be a formicular of ants, nuthin more .

You can actually learn how to ace IQ tests, with practice. If they are a true measure of intelligence, this shouldn't be the case.

When I was in the gifted program in school, they were always testing us for various things. Our scores kept rising and rising, because we just got really good at the various tests...lol. Our intelligence certainly had not changed that drastically.

Yeah, I figured Samoth would be a 125 - 130.

I had a friend who got kicked out of the "gifted" program.
He became kind of a problem student.
He was still smart, just kind of an asshole.
Those are my favorite kind of people.
