meh, i still have yet to hear a good explanation for the advertising of the roidstore here.

The real reason was greed. I dont believe for one second that Spellwin thought he was selling advertising to promote steroid.com instead of the roidstore! In his first post Spellwin says steroid.com copied Ef's model of a discussion board...but then he is going to sell them advertising? Like I said in my original post, what other businesses have you seen advertise for one of their direct competitors?? He knew who he was selling advertising for and did it disreguard of his "community"! It hard to feel sorry for someone who would promote the roidstore to make a buck...and then use it to make someone else look bad!

Not only advertised but sold..and endorsed strongly in the sales pitch.

I would start another thread for that - it is a whole other story that involves a number of other guys getting shafted - fortunately, I am not involved in this one, but feel bad for those that are.

I have no doubt that Brian Clapp and Anthony Roberts ark trying to get something they dont deserve. However, I'm not 100% convinced that EF didn't get caught up in the greed theirselves.

The article that is linked in the very first post of this thread states that George Spellwin didnt know that he was selling advertising to the roidstore.com. He instead thought he was selling advertising to promote the "steroid.com discussion boards". First of all if this is true thats just bad business and Mr. Spellwin should have had that loop hole in his contract closed up way before this happend. However, I think EF knew they were selling to the roidstore.com. Now Spellwin is trying to make his self look better, and Anthony Roberts look worse, by stating he wouldnt have allowed that had he known it would have been the roidstore and not steroid.com. The reason I think this, and keep in mind I have no proof or intimiate knowledge of the goings on at EF, is why would EF sell advertising promoting another discussion board? What other companies do you see advertise products that are in direct competion to them? That would be even worse business than actually advertising for the Roidstore.
What we see in this article is one side of the story. We all know there is 3 sides to every story...his side, their side and the truth.
While I support EF in their fight to not pay Roberts dont be fooled into thinking they were 100% innocent in all of this. Companies always know what is going to be adviertised on their website, radio and cable channels! And I find it hard to feel bad for someone who would advertise fake products just to make money. I feel EF let down its customers.

Now like I said....this is one mans opinion and I may be way off base. If Spellwin truely didnt know he was going to be advertising for the roidstore my sincerest apologies!!! I'm not trying to be a dick.....but I'm not buying the whole story. But either way....Anthony Roberts and the other fellow absolutly do not deserve any money at all from EF. He is an ass no doubt!

These are all interesting points. I am not actually involved in the ad sales here, so the precise timeline is a little vague even to me and is something we had to piece together. This said, I take full responsibility for what happened and I should have been more on top of things.

But, I fault myself most for not listening to the Mods and Members who were clearly much more upset about Anthony and RoidStore than I realized. I thought I was being loyal to him when instead I was really just being stupid and I should have acted decisively much earlier than I did.

Also, chew on this, Look at A.R. he is a scrawny piece of shit. Who was taking roid advice from him anyway. That is like taking weight loss advice from carnie Wilson.

Yeah I hate to hear this. The sad thing is , is there are a few more scum just like this moderating just as we speak, they just have not been discovered YET!

I think I addressed that misconception over on the "billybull" thread. Four mods and an admin were involved in that, and none of them were "overreaching," as one poster put it. We just had to share some information, and it took a little time to get 'er done.

A banner my friend, is a banner... avert thy gaze and reap the benefits said advertising $ hath sown upon EF, whatever the cost...

And a contract is a contract, so I doubt he could have pulled said banner without a far less frivolous lawsuit.

Only one thing can be said for sure: The banner probably saved some teenagers from spending their lunchmoney on fake & more harmful, or even real gear...

I hear you but IMHO not best practice.

There are always two sides to every story and in business terms sometimes it takes a court to decide the outcome. From what i can see this will not be a long drawn out case as it involves ALLEGED copyright infringement on one case and a breach of contract regarding advertising on another.

If by mediation this can not be resolved then no matter what a court will have to decide and you will have to present your case and evidence as the claimant / defendants will.

I can see no benefit (legally) as to why anyone (thats here and the AR blog) would want to discuss in public as the support of members will serve no purpose in the actual case and actually only antagonize the issue with the other side (which is has done reading the AR blog). Also as relevant in the case everything that has been written here can and suspect will be entered as evidence. As this is an open discussion forum i can only assume you or your legal team hope to obtain character witnesses statements from it who know but PERSONALLY IMHO you should keep to behind closed doors and enter mediation and or allow the lawyers to do their jobs.

Any antagonization will mean that no mediation will work as who can back down so far from what i can see it has only meant both parties are more determined to go to court which again as we all know the lawyers are the only ones to benefit.

All depends how much you want to risk and how confident you are in winning. Please remember NO ONE can predict litigation cases i have seen dead certs go completely the other way simply due to an administration error. What is a dead cert is you will not achieve any benefit by doing dirty washing in public.

Its a bad situation and a shame it can not be resolved behind closed doors but best of luck to all as i really hope it is concluded soon but i bet the lawyers are rubbing their hands together reading this and the retaliation on the other site as it means it will elongate the case should it come to court

Good luck though and hope you, Brian & AR can hold a conference all, arrange lunch and not leave until resolved.
