Dallas Police Angry At Having To Obey The Law

i'm not defending the offenders as a whole, but there are times when an officer is asked to respond without lights/siren for various reasons. if he needs to turn on lights for safety reasons to get through an intersection...well, sometimes it's perfectly reasonable for that to happen.

but then there are still those who will take advantage of it.

Add speeding to this list of crap they do on the way home for dinner..

I know a guy with TPD and he was bitching to me one day about being pulled over on his way home from his moonlighting security gig($30.00 an hour under the table). Apparently , he was pissed because he was in uniform and pulled over by a state trooper for doing 80 in a 65. The trooper then proceeded to give him a lecture about being an officer and upholding the law, he still didn't get a ticket though.

i know a sheriff's deputy who made over 90k last year working only at his government job. granted, a lot was from over-time...but still.

TPD starts at 40k and the vets make 60k-65k. Not bad when you factor in cost of living. It's like making 80k in Chicago to start.
