Corruption of American Children

my opinion..which no one gives a shit about.....it't not kids that are any worse thn before but the last 60 years have been an anomaly...any historians, can look at at the early 20th and 19th century and see that humans have changed............none.

yes lets everyone scapegoat video games and movies as the root of societys evils. that would be better than looking in the mirror and admitting that you are te failures, ad are passing the 'fuck' along.

i used to hag around with the badasses in school, ad i was one. ellraisers etc. to a one, there parents were pieces of shit, distant, broken homes, and generally focused more on themselves than there kids. there was no exception to this rule.

there were alot of kids whos parents were just as fucked up as ours were. the difference? they had quite a bit of cash, and alot of pressure to be a certain way or humiliate there family somehow. my group didnt give a fuck.

all that situation seemed to do was hold it off. most of those ppl that i still see around town are doing absolutly nothing. they are now making the mistakes that i did 7-8 years ago.

it all starts at home. while it may soothe some ppl o here to blame everyone and things but themselves, thats where the buck starts.

its not whos fucked up, its how much it shows.

This whole idea of laying the blame on culture is such bullshit.

20 years ago kids were idolizing Alice Cooper who bit the head off a snake @ a rock show.

Then Ozzy osborne who bit the head off a bat.

Now Marylin Manson cross dresses and looks really fucked up but I don't think he has bit anythings head off...yet. Unless he bit off Trent Reznor's dick and they forgot to film it or something.

I think it has to do with a little bit of everything. What kids see these days and parenting seems to be more lazy. Doog thing this country is so "sexually repressed, or we could see a wealth of more problems. :D

Why not expose them to everything and have them make their own decisions on what is right and wrong.

It has taken man thousands of years to know what is right and wrong, and you suggest discarding these lessons and simply allowing children to try and figure them out all by themselves?

Please don't have children.

This is ridiculous. I guess the success of Ancient Greece had nothing to do with their culture of learning, the failure of Medieval Europe had nothing to do with the intellectual repression of the Catholic Church, and the barbarism of Nazi Germany had nothing to do with Nazi philosophy.

No matter how much we try to guide our child, she still will hear
and repeat something she heard at school or a friend or TV that we don't approve of.

Immediately when she says or does it, we calmly explain that it is
inappropriate or Not Nice to say or do that.
When we see kids in public doing or saying stupid things, she now see's and actually rolls her eyes at how bad it looks.

Parenting
Social and economic class
Exposure to a 'normal', whether by media or by friends

That's really all it boils down to. I couldn't care less about those kids, less competition for me.

I'm obviously over-simplifiying. I would think someone with your intelligence would see that. However all I am saying is that parents should be open and honest with their children about what is out there, and give them guidance and suggestions on how to cope in a world with so much temptation.

But you also have to let children live, make their own decisions, make their own mistakes, and if you have done a good job of instilling values they will learn from those.

By hiding certain things from your children you don't think it pushes them to find them even more?

If women would go around topless America would be a much nicer country! Also we men would get over our boob facinations.
