Competative Natural Bodybuilder

tiger88 said:
nice work bro!

i believe you are natty...he trains his ass off and some good genetics
Funniest part is that I don't think Layne has good genetics. He worked really hard and more importantly he has a top notch diet.

If you look at his younger pictures you would never look at him and think that he was built. He looks more suited for cross country and water polo.

anybody at 14 who has a body like that has great genetics..... I am on the fence now, I don't know what to believe.

I still think you have used some substances, I just can not see how the human body can get that lean without help.

you look great though, so I guess that is what matters

believe what you want to believe. Consider that I also help many natural organizations develop their banned substances list and have pushed several organizations to develop more strict banned substances list. My BS is in Biochem and i'm doing my PhD in nutritional science... not exactly as if i'm flying blind here :) Again, i've seen many natural guys much better than myself... hopefully as I progress I can change that and be one of the best natural bodybuilders out there, that's my goal at least. First thing is first... I want to get my natural pro card.

AS far as genetics go... depends on the bodypart. My legs were absolutely horrid as was my back; I looked like a ruler. At my first bodybuilding show my legs measured a whopping 21.5". I've managed to get them up to 27" last offseason, but they still need alot of work.

thanks for the comments!

I can also vouch for Layne on other boards. Hes an awesome guy and is 100% natural. Give him a chance here guys, he is the most knowlegable guy I ever encountered in the bodybuilding industry. and at 23, hes just started!

give us natural lifters some training split/routine suggestions. should we follow the standard bb splits (is that what u do?) or do u do powerlifting style type stuff like madcows workouts

Thank you all for the comments. I don't think my genetics are outstanding, as I said I've never put on more than 20 lbs in a year and i started out with a lot of weakpoints. I had quite a few competitors tell me I had 'terrible' genetics when I first started competing. I don't know if they just didn't like me and were trying to hurt my feelings or what lol. In either case, i've had a lot to work on and I think my physique is finally getting to the point of nearly being balanced.

As far as my routine goes here are links to two of my training journals.

Greetings. This is one of the forums I had never posted on before, some may know me, some not. I'm a mod at bodybuilding.com, mindandmuscle.net, fortifiediron.net, and fitnessandphysique message boards. I'm a competitive natural bodybuilding seeking my pro card this year in the WNBF & IFPA. I am also persuing my PhD in nutritional science specializing in amino acid metabolism & exercise, I have my BS in biochemistry. I also write for natural bodybuilding and fitness magazine, fitness & physique magazine, fitnessRX for men, and Planet Muscle magazine (article currently in print). I have my own site that is up and running but still needs a lot of work. Anyways, here are some photos from my last round of shows in 2004 and also some photos from a DVD i was in called "Prime Cuts" from USA Muscle
