Is she a very meek and submissive person to begin with? It might work if she never rocks the boat. Ever. On the other hand, if she gets a few beatings and then begins to harbour resentment, this could go sour.
I couldn't support this kind of arrangement myself as I have first-hand experience with physical punishment from an ex, so I couldn't and wouldn't participate as a bridesmaid. It goes against my own beliefs that people should not hit their loved ones for any reason.

ummmm point being also if the woman doesnt do nething shes not supposed to do then there is no need to worry. If she soley lives to please her husband then there shouldnt be any issues. If she goes out and cheats on him, well, she might get beat with a belt...just saying...

Yeah, they're living this way after marriage. It'd be hard now seeing as they aren't living together.

She's been my best friend for a while now so it def comes as a shock. She's never said/acted like this before. I was speechless.

Yeah, I figured they were not living together but I'm just wondering how he talked her into this...did he bring it up after the engagement or did she go into the engagement knowing this was the kind of husband he wanted to be? I'm just trying to figure out how a woman could come to the conclusion to marry a man that wants to discipline her and treat her like a child.

I mean, most people don't even spank older children, just younger ones. So she would be beneath a teenager.
