who determines the punishment level based on the actions?
I thought only the maid of honor was responsible for supporting/helping the marriage and bridesmaids were just friends.

He does. He'd determine both what constituted 'misbehavior' and what actions would be taken to correct it.

And I think everybody in a wedding party and all the guests are there to support a marriage, otherwise they wouldn't show up at all...regardless, I was the maid of honor til her sister got all upset that she wasn't, so her mom and I have still been planning stuff as if I were.

Honestly Feedz I am appalled. There is NOTHING christian about that. Nothing. Oh yeah and one more thing...there's nothing funny about it either. Any man who puts his hands on a woman should be horsewhipped!!

Agreed. I don't think a man should ever put his hands on a woman as punishment. I don't understand why she's agreed to such a thing. She tried to explain it away for probably 30 minutes and by then I was still thinking "WTF?"

In the bible women were to SERVE their husbands or face consequences. Also if your kids didnt act right you would take them to the town elders to be stoned...The bible times were great!

I didn't really ask. Apparently there's a group of people who do this (I've since googled it), and they quote scripture as saying women are supposed to obey their husbands. It says nothing about physical punishment though. This group says it's the successful way to teach women not to disobey for reasons completely unbeknownst to me.
