Early in day...

Gatorade
Honey
Brown Rice
Corn Flakes (w/some Skim Milk-yuk)
White Wheat Bread
Mashed Potatoes
Jelly Beans
Bagel

Later in day...

Orange Juice
Jam
Fat Free Ice Cream

Throughout whole day...

Lean Chicken
Egg Whites
Tuna

Anyone think that any one of these items should not belong somewhere on this list, or some other item should be included? I'm going out shopping tomorrow, and I guess I need to know what to buy...

Ditch anything with fructose. It preferentially reglycogenates the liver, instead of muscles, which defeats the purpose of a carb-up.

This means no Gatorade, no honey, no jellybeans, no orange juice, and no jam.

my last carb day on sunday (on ckd):

10 blueberry muffins
1 jamba juice
Ravioli at Macaroni Grill
4 brownies
4 glasses of milk
bag of reese's cups

LOL :)

I'm still losing..but I gotta cut the fat huh?

Ok, went shopping today, avoided honey, jellybeans, OJ and jam. Also bought a package of spaghetti (not a big fan of other pastas). However I bought two other things that should be Ok for a CKD diet.

1st, I got the Gatorade mix (the dry stuff) instead of the already diluted kind, because the latter did have fructose, and high fructose syrup in it. The dry Gatorades ingridients are sucrose, dextrose, and citric acid (as well as food colorings).

2nd, I got a bag of Smarties (the tablet like candy) which is food coloring plus dextrose.

I am avoiding fructose which should help me stay leaner during my carb-up as well as both of them having dextrose, which I believe is a simple carb. So shouldnt it theorteically help me kick back into ketosis quicker because it will be burned quicker? So are those two foods ok for Carb-up (need a reply soon because tomm. is carb-up..thx :)?

Also I was searching the web on sugar, and it seems that although honey is bad for you during carb-up, maple syrup is ok because its mostly sucrose (http://www.feinberg.northwestern.edu/nutrition/factsheets/carbohydrates.html). Has anyone tried that?
