I hope the kid I talked to isn't typical of stereo people. He looked about 18, maybe 19, and of course he's an expert on everything I want (before even asking me what I want). He couldn't get it through his head that I didn't want a navigation system built in to the radio. I don't want a navigation system AT ALL! He kept trying to get me to consider it even though he had no reason to back it up as to why it would benefit ME. I couldn't tell you how many times he would just repeat, "but it would look so cool". And that wasn't even the worst part. I did a little research on what I have in the car now speaker wise before going in. He looked in the car when I got there to see what I was dealing with. Even after physically looking at my car and speakers he tried to sell me the wrong size speakers for the front doors. I let he go on about these incorrect Focal speakers for about 10 minutes and then I filled him in. Of course, he assured me I was mistaken about the door speakers. He then goes over to the computer to look it up and show me. He was wrong. Did he admit to his mistake? Of course not, he just said, "thats weird", "really weird". I'll probably try another place next week and see what happens. The trip wasn't a complete waste though, I did find a stereo I like. Its one of the nicer Kenwoods. And I kinda liked one of the Alpines too. Speaker wise the Boston Acoustics sounded killer.
