I AM CONSIDERING ISSA, WHAT IS YOUR OPINION OF BEING THE BEST CHOICE OF EDUCATION TO BECOME A PERSONAL TRAINER? AND WHY?

yeah, you do need a degree in that case.

does anyone have an opinion on ISSA?

and what about IFPTA?

i heard about those last two that they also were reputable assiciation, although newer.
i appreciate all replies!

Both of those are reputable ones. You can also get ACSM, NSCA, and NASM< without a degree. all are good and widely accepted.

thanx! what i like about the ISSA is their great technical support, while studying as well as after certification. they also offer a weekend hands on seminar, as does the IFPTA. ISSA keeps their studymaterial very well updated also, and it is very complete as to the subjects being taught. i looked into IFPTA on the net, and the studymaterial does not seem all that, it said the textbokk was over 100 pages - ISSA's is about 400!

anybody has any other input on this - i'm sure it interests many, who are considering PT. thanx!

issa is one of the good ones.

nasm is very cutting edge as well. i take it in november.

nsca was a pretty tough test. waiting on the results.

ace was easy, and kindof worthless in the info. "how not to get sued". i let this one lapse.

acsm and cscs prefer degreed individuals, but someone with experience and/or currently enrolled in a related degree program can take it.

another good one is rts (restistance training specialist), but they are in oklahoma city and do their workshops and certs out of their base location.

go for only nationally recognized certs. im not sure about ifptalmnop :), if its new then it may not be nationally recognized.
