Battling the same incline chest dumbells weight for 1.5 yrs

doesnt make sense. Inclines hit front delts alot harder than flat bench.

tru but there being worked as a secondary, to make them grow You need to target them as primarys..kinda like saying since you bench press you dont need to triceps ect..

i would strongly suggest not doing that exercise for a few months, and instead going for the other compound chest moves, with dips being my personal suggestion.

i would also take a look at your diet, since without being at all offensive, the weight youre lifting is fairly intermediate, and should have been exceeded (normally) if youre training as hard as you make out. what angle do you have the bench at? how is the rest of your development going? is this exercise/bodypart your problem exercise/bodypart, or are you stagnating across the board? if your other lifts/bodyparts are progressing nicely, then i would abandon this movement. if everything has plateued, then look at general factors like diet, sleep etc

also, some lifts just dont work for some people - i for example can barely do a pull up with the bar going behind my neck, but with other common back moves such as the tbar row, i happily use weight that few others even attempt - and if this is one of those, let it go

sorry if i repeated what others have said, i stopped reading after that other guy started flaming (which there was no need to do, by the way)

There are alot of helpful comments and alot of people who need to read more carefully before they reply. I don't think 70's, for me, are light weights. Slow proper movement always give me a good burn.

Many of you made some of the same points and asked similar ?'s Concerning:

Core Exercises- My lats are spreading and my quads are busting. I do do squats, but stay away from deads. My arms grow like weeds. I'm stuck on pecs. My hams lag, but that's another post.

Diet: My diet is solid. At least 1.5 grams of protein per lb a day spread out over many meal, 4000-6000 calories a day depending on time allowed (but never walk around on an empty stomach), plenty of essential fats and vitamins.

Tri's and delts- Like I said before, my tri's are in good shape. My front delts grow from dumbell bench work very nicely, but I'll give a go at working them separatly for awhile and see how much that helps. I already have massive shoulders for my frame, but this could be a bullet I need to bite.

GLOVER- Going staight to heavy after a light warm-up is something I haven't tried. I'll give that a go when I rotate back to my heavy cycle.

GOLDEN- I find that dips are a primary tri exercise, even when I change up the angle and lean in with my chest. I usually throw them in at the end of my chest workouts if I have anything left. Nonetheless, since I'm looking for ways around I'll put them first some time and see what happens.

I appreciate the helpful replies.

Slow proper burn is great for slow twich fibers, but try explosive move up and slow down for fast twich fiber recruitment. Also what is the incline you are set at, too much will bring in your front delts more an your lift may suffer, as your pecs should be stronger. I went away from the typical 45, and started putting a couple of boards under a flat bench to get one end higher. Now I don't have a chest like arnold, but I did notice my delts were not nearly involved and my lifts went up. Immediately.

Just a thought.

MRHoon is right and something I did not think about. Make sure you have the proper incline. If your using dumbells your probably on an adjustable bench. Try 45 or lower to take out emphasis on shoulders.

He is also very right on with the speed. Since heavier weight is your goal try more explosive move up. Push it as fast as you can on the upward move. That with going straight to your heavy set should push your weights up over time.

Remember It does not matter what weight you push it matters what you look like. There is always someone out there who is stronger than we are. Good luck.

I hope I'm not repeating what someone else already said but how many days between chest workouts do you have, also do you work tris or delts the day before?

he said 70's ON A CYCLE!! that's what makes me laugh, obviously his heart isn't in it or his genetics are worse than most women, probably both.

Fucking asshole
