Squat 4x10
Bench Press 3x10
Chins/Pulldowns 3x10
Behind-Neck Press 4x10
Barbell Curl 3x10
Sit Ups 4x20

^Arnold's prescribes beginners/ectomorphs do this 3x a week. What's your opinion?

I am personally thinking of doing it 2x a week since I think 3x a week is too much. The thing is that I am trying to get more cut and atm, my martial arts training is my priority.
^is there any benefits to sarcoplasmic hypertrophy? Will it make me stronger as well as more muscular (if I want to get big then I also want to be strong)

If you want to get lean your not going to get big. YOu have to have a calorie surplus to create more growth. Arnolds bible is a great book but remember sports training has advanced incredibly since he wrote that.

But this is still good for strength and toning right? Not too fussed if I don't get big-want to maintain my muscle mass and lose the moobs/flabdominals

I wouldn't mind having separation in my quads and between biceps/triceps/deltoids for that "trained" look. Don't care if I don't get sliced pecs/6 pack-just want to lose my fat deposits!

depending on your diet you would lean out and develop toned muscle under your body fat but building would be limited to your diet. and it would help do away with moobs depending on how mooby they are.
 
wow only 1 exercise for lower body, nothing for calves and yet 5 exercises for upper body?

calves should be a gimmie. This is pretty much a get started type of workout a basic foundation workout.I wouldn't do this for a year or anything, just to get things rolling.

I wouldnt really do it at all but then again even as a beginner all I really did for legs was squats and deads so maybe for a beginner it would work...

Fuck calves.

Big calves look sick! Nearly as good as big forearms lol
